haha, the customer serve officer ask me to fully settle the outstanding amount then after 24 hours call back to waive the annual fee RM250, and then only can cancel the card. I think this time game over, I will not entertain the retention team to call me back anymore
SCB, bye bye
*
No call from retention team.
They reverse the annual fee and SST then cancelled the card. Bye bye SCB for good.

Anyway I dislike their call center. Very hard to get help when needed.

I think I’ve held their card for more than 10 years

I'm cancelling my SC card even if they waive my annual fee.

- VERY POOR customer care service. They are not helpful at lot.

- Payment made to clear my outstanding, even SMS received but the amount was not reflect in my account. Due to this reason, they said I have outstanding and can't proceed with cancellation. I call to their SC and they say only can check between 9am - 9pm. LOL

- Lousy mail communication. You have to keep creating new mail to communicate with them! There's no reply button!

Used to be the card that I use the most. doh.gif

Is SCB still aggressively promoting their credit cards?
Seems like wanting to abandon biz here?

The irony they spend so much acquiring new customers but then reluctant to give waiver to retain existing cardholders.

They no longer acquire new customers I think. No interest in their CC business anymore.

Just realised this after checking Ringgitplus and Comparehero. No promotion whatsoever.

Last year they were still giving guaranteed 1k or so sign-up bonus. Looking at their consumer business presence, they might probably exit Malaysia soon.

Yes, Citibank Malaysia only has business for the HNWIs now, other businesses sold to UOB.

After being charged for annual fee, call to cancel then no need pay the annual fee?
How to get hold of CS to ask for waiver? I read ppl said press 1 for emergency then will have human talk to us.

I'm not sure as I hardly speak to them... I only use the chat function via the app, which is only available to Premium customers.
I'm sure you can find a human on the phone as I tried calling when I linked the app to my new phone.

When I selected 'other matters' the chat bot asked me to use the app help section lol. It was not like this the previous time I contacted Standard Chartered. Anyway I found an email address in their website, hopefully they will reply me.

I simply called them out of curiosity. Call +603 7849 6888, select language > press 4 (account related enquiry) > enter your IC/credit card no. > A prompt on your app to approve, approve it > press 2 for credit cards/personal loan > choose the credit card > press 1 to confirm > listen to your outstanding details > after listening all, it will prompt press * to speak to CS. I didn't hold further so I don't know how long does it require to wait for a CS to pick up.

Still can reach, you are not abusing the emergency call anyway. You are going through normal routes.
