Cant find Smart Credit Card under their offerings anymore too since the above mentioned revision..

I had to google to find the old product page to seet what other benefits i can still use with this card or consider cancelling it...

Looks like steps before cancelling this product for good?
*
I've only been using it for the 3-month, 0% interest FlexiPay Plus feature; so since they're gonna 86-it next year, I'm just gonna cut this card after I finish paying for the several transactions I've got using this feature... the bank has been such a PITA to deal with in the last few years, anyway. The only other thing I'll miss is the stupid RM30K CL they gave me.

I think they're slowly taking this product off the line already. Dunno if this means just that, or that they're gonna introduce some new card down the line..

Anyone of you cancelling SC card after annual fee is charged? How they credit back the annual fee payment if we made payment for the total statement amount which inclusive of annual fee?
Cos if not include the annual fee, the cancellation tru app cannot go tru cos got outstanding balance.

Annual spending >RM30k for many years still cannot get annual fee waiver, the reply from secure mail also dono when they will reply, need check everyday when free.

Waiver Request sent on 19/12 only reply by 24/12. Then I send cancellation request until today still not receive reply. Dislike this bank after they limit the channel for communication, last time got live chat channel and should maintain it.

Yesterday was my credit card due date and I paid at night which I always do. The only difference is I usually pay at 8.30pm and last night I paid at 9.40pm. Today I checked and I got charged with late payment charges. I chatted with CS and she sent in waiver for me and subject to approval. I told her my payment is within due date and she said there’s a cutoff in their system. I find it ridiculous to penalize customers for this when we still pay within the due date.

I actually suspected something because usually I will receive SMS and email within half an hour after my payment was made but not yesterday. I only received them at 2am. Anyway, it’s not a big deal for me but it’s something SCB should look into.

Yeah that’s individual’s preference. Again it’s not customers’ fault to know their system cutoff.

What trouble? There’s instant payment, that’s the purpose. I never had any issues with payment on due date for all banks. For HLB and SCB, will charge late payment if past due dates. Other banks will have grace period but I don’t do that and will pay on due date.

I mean, from statement date to due date that's 20 days.

Any reason to pay on the last day?

Individual preference and with instant payment, there’s no issue at all.
For HLB BT, have to pay on the expiry date anyway so I only set my calendar to pay everything on the due date and not earlier.

Duitnow Transfer / instant transfer is not 100% reliable.
Also the bank App/Web can be offline or cooling-off (delay 12 hours so next day)

If that happens, I’m sure banks will understand. Anyway, it’s really not a big issue but just wanting to let others know about SCB’s system. Moreover getting on hold of their CS is not easy these days, so plan your payment accordingly. For me, I’m OK because I’m tagged as their premium customer so can chat with them on the app.

Individual preference. I also pay on due date.
Between that 20 days if cash available, I can put in other place to generate extra $$$ also before paying.

I always schedule payment day before due date to avoid all these...
experience similar issue and caused delay in payment (insufficient fund etc).. which lead to lots of troublesome ..need email/call for waiver etc

My card charged annual fee on 3rd dec , request for waiver on app but declined . Inbox msg them , after 8 days replied say will waive , but end up didn't show any waiver in my transaction. Payment due date reaching , i only pay for outstanding , didn't pay the annual fee. Then i called to their customer service press option lost card to request waiver . Then after 2 days in apps show annual fee waived.

I will still cancel this card very soon since the benefits offered is not attractive for me anymore.

I just noticed all the credit cards offered by Standard Chartered has raised their minimum annual income to RM8k per month? I find it quite ridiculous and also losing competitiveness with such stringent requirement.
