I got charged with AF and SST for both my Journey and Smart Card, didn't manage to get any rebate or waiver so I asked to cancel since I hardly use them anyway. Yesterday, the retention team called and offered to waive everything for both cards provided I spend 3x with no minimal amount on each card. I gladly accepted and reloaded ShopeePay RM 1x6.

Mine due in September, but I didn't want to wait so I submit cancellation with the reason annual fee coming up. The support told me the same thing. Wait until I get charged, make 3 transactions, and submit annual fee waiver.

ah maybe that's the diff. mine is the old old cashback card (then changed to liverpool then now discont.)

Canceled my Journey card just before they could charge me with SST and annual fee as I did not hit the annual spending for AF waiver.

Surprisingly the card is cancelled 4 days with no retention team calling to offer some free goodies

nope - i cancelled via the mobile app, dont think i could indicate it anywhere without them calling

so, u receive cancellation confirmation from them? or just nobody call u n assume it is cancelled? As I know, they took quite sometime for cancellation request.

normally, will remove from system and call u on last -7 days.

Same thing happened to me when I cancelled SC 2 cards in the past. All depend on luck I guess.

Yes, tried the waiver request via ticketing system on 21-Aug.
50% only. Fine!

Since I've COC active now, I'll definitely consider cancel after COC fully paid.
I'm moving out some auto-debit from this card.
