Installed Hikvision recently...bullet cameras and NVR (DS 7716N1E4/16P)....working fine except when want to forward remote playback video to Whatsapp - "the file format is not supported" however still picture can be forwarded via Whatsapp.

Checked with Installer - he confirmed with the technical guy from the principle -"the app can only extract the MP4 format...have to wait until they update the app" rclxub.gif

Need help here as I believed the playback video can actually use Whatsapp but may have miss something in the NVR? icon_question.gif

Anyone can recommend a good place to get an 8 channel DVR? Just plain old analog cameras. Need to replace my one. Spoil already.

If u opt for Cynics, go for T series. Price not much different from X series.
If u want better quality and function, go for HIKVISION.

Currently aiming China Hikvision 3MP Lowlight with MIC Camera
DS-2CD2336FWD-IS
http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/prgs_997_i17080.html

But still prefer 4MP Lowlight with MIC, if Hikvision ever come out with one.

May I know if there is any recommended app that can view CCTVs remotely from iPhone? Are these apps safe? Example: once we key in user and password, can the app owner or others (by hacking or whatever) constantly have access to the CCTV views???

Yes, all cctv now come with own app, except those OEM CCTV.
For example:
HIKVISION - IVMS-4500
DAHUA - gDMSS or iDMSS

realtime framerate for FullHD is 25fps
non-realtime is 15fps

5MP DVR can support all 5MP and lower MP camera.
