So you think AP will see the light of day here? Maybe when everyone realise where eWallet is a god damn hassle and ditch eWallet indefinitely and prefer something like AP or SP(Samsung), baru those higher up ppl in the banks will give green light.

It will take a while because the banks who already made the initial investment with Samsung Pay, that hasn't really recouped back yet.

I used about 90% of AP with UOB debit card in Sg after back to KL I am really not used to it, like back to dinosaurs century. QRpay never compete with AP.
Can someone share , it is possible non-local banks launch AP faster then local banks ? I know I may live in my own fantasy but still hope it will still happens more next 5 or 10 years

3rd Petition. Just sign it please.

At least there's a remark to Apple that we want it here.

1.The exchange rate is negligible for me. If all my money is in euro, I would loss maybe 1sen per rm2.77. The huge loss is when you're transferring money from MYR to Euro

2.Yes, you can use your iphone n apple watch at any paywave enabled terminal, except Mcd drive thru, dunno why tak boleh hahhahahha. But just remember, Malaysian stores/cashiers etiquette is to take your card and tap it for you, so using mobile nfc payment is a bit weird for them. Some are weirded out by the N26 card itself cuz it doesn't look like any typical debit/credit card here in malaysia.

Hi. Thanks for the guide in registering N26 and I used your referral code. thumbsup.gif

I do have a bit of a problem though, I can't seem to topup using credit/debit cards. Tried all of my banks and contacted them before trying to make sure my account is allowed for overseas transactions but to no avail. N26 however said it was declined by the banks themselves, although none of them said this is true. Not even a transaction is recorded in their system to check the error code.

Do you have any idea why? Is it because of the name on my credit card and the name on N26 is a bit different? Have "Bin" in First Name. Thanks in advance.

For the meantime I used Transferwise for the first topup. Really weird why it was declined. Do you know the MCC code for the topup you've done successfully before? It was suggested by bank CS that if the MCC code is for Forex, then it will definitely be declined. I tried getting that info from N26 but they said they don't know the code too.

Looks like Apple is bringing the ecg function for Apple watch. Is this a sign that we are being considered as an important market? Maybe Apple pay will be next.

It is not on Apple, is our Bank Negara and local banks.
I doubt that they will launch AP anytime this year

Speaking out of thin air, but BNM probably wants local entities to back the payment process, aka local banks. Local banks don’t want to use the process coz of the fees (which they could take for themselves if they use their own payment methods). If I’m not mistaken, other local payment providers are also much cheaper than Apple Pay/provide other benefits.

apple pay, google pay, samsung pay all piggyback on top of existing payment system,
in terms of fees involved i have no idea but in terms of technology, it is readily available.

I believe it's because our local eWallets that is actually a hassle has a low transaction fee. Take a look here

ShopeePay currently charging 1% MDR yo ?
1% MDR = Grab , ShopeePay
0.5% MDR = TouchNGo
Surprisingly Boost that has a lot of coverage charging 1.5% MDR.

Not sure about Apple Pay. Maybe banks tested waters with SamsungPay and there's no support. Well, they kinda choose the wrong side to test the water.

Oh well, banks are now done with integrating with DuitNowQR. Their IT dept should have the allocation time now to "install" AP infra/gateway to their system.

I think mae/qrpay already use duitnowqr so you can pay with any bank app that support duitnowqr.
I already encountered one restaurant in cyberjaya just put single duitnow qr for e wallet payment.
Now grab, tng, boost must offer value added service since users no longer required to top up to their e wallet to make payment. Can deduct directly from their bank account
