Just got a call from HL premier banking promoting about their 3.85% 12 month FD.
*
better do online with HL connect.

quite easy, just did.

4% 12 months (3, 6, 9 available but lower %), min 10k, max 30k (which is no good).

this HLB promo is not available at branches, only for online HL Connect.

I made online. Of course whether it is valid for the 12 month 4.1% or not I'm not sure. Didn't even know that GIA can be placed over counter.

Probably tomorrow I'll ask at counter for that question as need to fix a CC too.

There is no special button to choose between current GIA-i (ranging from 1 to 12 mths) n the 6/12 mths promo
How do u know systems will place your application in the right place?  hmm.gif

u can check from maybank2u :

Account & Banking > Fixed Deposits & Mudarabah IA > View my accounts > General Investment Account-i (GIA-i) > check the cert with 12 months, it will show the % with exclamation mark.

I have this just after I open HLB basic saving acc.
You need to go to Settings > Customize my account > make sure your CASA is checked for [Allow For Pay & Transact]

also, the CASA has to be HLB, mach money box is not consider HLB product.

not sure if relevant but this promo is valid only if u transfer $ from an other bank to an HLB account online with HL Connect.

can't do if the money is already in the HLB account.

I am planning to put in now and uplift in the next few days just to experiment. Most likely will still be 3.6% but if maintained up to 12 months , then of course will be 4.1%. biggrin.gif

i still skeptical about this e-GIA ....

can i stop half wat e.g. if i choose 6 months or 12 months in the middle of 5th months, i withdrawn all, will i entitle
month 1 to month 5 for 3.6% interest rate + my guarantee principal ?

haven't invest in e-GIA

normal e-GIA, you will still entitled to the interest pro-rated when you uplift prematurely smile.gif

Not sure about the promo type, I do not have the amount to test laugh.gif

Awaiting ppl to confirm biggrin.gif

And note that eGIA is not under PIDM protection (so capital not guarantee), so it is not really comparable to FD smile.gif

mm... pro-rated, then i should go for conventional FD with 1 month maturity term....and get it renew every time...this will eventually same return as the e-GIA which stop in halfway ...

mmm.... capital not guarantee, then my question to those who have ventured to this, please share your experience whether you have encountered before on your capital shrinking ...

I have their old GIA-i promo of 1 yr duration and 4.5% eff rate. Ended and all safe.

But for the new one, I am a bit skeptical. Not for the safety of the principal but on the interest. biggrin.gif
