Yes, the GIA-i promo can be done online by selecting the preferred tenure (6/12 months).

Edit: Saw it in the website of MBB Maybank2U, the step-up one. So need to explore further.

Maybank GIA-i step up promo place over the counter, 4.1% pa. But since the interest given every months credit back to principal, the accumulated total interest for 12 months will get close to 4.2%. Not bad..

I tried to uplift one of my GIA placed in August or September 2016 via maybank2u, the rates are not prorated at all bangwall.gif

I think there's something wrong with their calculation.

Example

50K placed on 2 Aug for 3 months (mature 2 Nov). If uplift today, it shows 78.69 interest only sweat.gif sweat.gif

I can confirm that one-day placement of >10k (12 months) under the new GIA promo will still get interest (3.6%). Placed one yesterday and withdrew today.

Have not tried for <10k, shouldn't be any difference except you won't get the step-up in later months? Now gonna have to split my GIA amount to 2, one to keep 12 months and one to roll when got bills coming...

I found out can place online as well as long choose 6 or 12 months tenure. I did it online this morning, then call up RM to check and she confirm she can see in the system its the step up rates. Save me a trip to the bank rclxms.gif

that's great rclxms.gif
can we assume Maybank still pays the normal GIA interest (3.6%/p.a. currently) calculated daily if we uplift earlier?

I didn't ask but I assume no hardcopy since this is eGIA. Personally I don't like certificate, everything online easier.

Nope, there is no button, hence the hesitancy, which prompted me to call up my RM. I text her my IC no, and she was able to confirm the rates which tally with the cert number of the FD that I can see in M2U.
However, after placement, you can go and view your cert, then click on the "i" for info for each cert, it will show you the step up rates. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif
