OPR movement is under the jurisdiction of BNM.
Mainly driven by economic strength/condition and/or financial liquidity/money movement (M1 or M2 - cannot remember)

If it also sometimes influenced by fiscal policy and/or inflationary pressure.

Means good economy and everything good then opr drop
So why inflation still go up since opr drop?
Does not make sense at all
My pan mee now cost 6.50 per bowl at Puchong area
Next year aunty say rm7 coming
Gila la this inflation

BNM is anticipating a weaker growth in the 2nd half; not past few months ago.
BNM is acting according to national statistics not your personal feeling/observation.

Cutting OPR means BNM wants encourage domestic spending to spur up the GDP number.

Do take note that the market is anticipating another OPR cut by end of this year or early next year.

Thanks for the info
Hope they extend for another 5 to 10 years

Unker don't understand why opr will drop
What will determine opr?
Economy good opr drop?
Economy bad opr rises since more ppl borrow money?
Or is it now Malaysia lots of ppl got lots of cash then not much ppl borrow money?
Anyone can provide some simple explanation?

I work 30 years in the air condition industry so don't know much about financial stuff.
*
OPR determine by BNM. Normally it drop because economy not so good, ppl keep their cash in bank. If BNM reduce the rate, more people see the interest rates not attractive they will switch to investment like stock market. U may Google what is the benefit of reduce opr.

Since u said u are from air cond industry. May I know if i usually use dry mode as a dehumidifier, will it reduce air cond life span?

It will just reduce your life span not the aircond life span
Don't use dry mode too much as overtime it will dehydrated you without you knowing

Thanks for your advice.
My nose became better after switch to dry mode. I don't want to sneezing everyday because of humidity. Even I don't switch on aircond the symptom still the same. See a lot of doctor and take medicine still the same. Unless I stay in KL. My nose symtoms are gone while I working in KL but now not working in KL anymore. So I'll keep in dry mode, drink more water and put on lotion.

Since the Titanium thread is closed, may I know if I am allowed to pay Statement amount less Unbilled rebated amount?
Or do I need to pay the statement amount and rebated amount won't count as payment (like CIMB credit cards)?
Thanks
*
You can pay the balance after deducting the rebate.

Hello,

For (2), transfer to same bank (non ocbc) but 3 different accounts will work?
*
Yes, transfer to 3 different credit cards with the same bank will work too.

Anybody know which balance is used to calculate the average balance? Total balance or available balance? This crossed my mind when I saw my available balance after deducting the floating amount.
*
The total balance. It is used to calculate both the base interest and bonus interest (using average balance).

OCBC 360 Savings Account

OCBC came out with a pretty innovative Savings Account which lets you earn an interest rate up to 4.10% per year. That’s very high interest rate for a Savings Account, right ?

user posted image

Here’s how you can earn up to 4.10% interest

0.5% - Base Interest (based on current Board Rate for Savings)
1.20% - Deposit minimum RM500 per month
1.20% - Pay minimum 3 bills via OCBC 360 Account using OCBC Online Banking portal (includes Standing Instructions for Loan repayment and OCBC Credit Card payment)
1.20% - Spend minimum RM500 on your OCBC Credit Card

The calculation of the Interest receive is based on “Average Daily Account Balance”.
“Average Daily Account Balance” = Sum of Daily balance for the calendar month then divided by number of days in that calendar month.

The Maximum “Average Daily Account Balance” that qualify for bonus interests is RM100,000.00. Any additional balance will continue to earn the base rate.

Eg.
01 November 2015 : RM200.00 (starting balance)
10 November 2015 : RM500.00 (deposit)
30 November 2015 : RM5000.00 (deposit)

“Average Daily Account Balance” calculation = RM716.67
Formula:- [RM200 x 9 days] + [RM700 x 20 days] + [RM5700 x 1 day] divide by 30 Days in November

The Bonus interest will be calculated based on the RM716.67 amount (not RM5,700 total balance in OCBC 360 Account).

Let’s do another scenario to better understand the Bonus Interest portion.

Scenario A
01 November 2015 : RM200.00 (starting balance)
10 November 2015 : RM500.00 (deposit)
25 November 2015 : -RM500.00 (3 bill payments via OCBC 360 using OCBC Online Banking Portal)
28 November 2015 : Swipe retail purchases totaling RM1000.00 using your OCBC Credit Card
30 November 2015 : RM5000.00 (deposit)

“Average Daily Account Balance” calculation = RM610.00
Formula:- [RM200 x 9 days] + [RM700 x 15 days] + [RM200 x 5 days] + [RM5000 x 1 day] divide by 30 Days in November

Scenario B
01 November 2015 : RM200.00 (starting balance)
10 November 2015 : RM5000.00 (deposit)
25 November 2015 : -RM500.00 (3 bill payments via OCBC 360 using OCBC Online Banking Portal)
28 November 2015 : Swipe retail purchases totaling RM800.00 using your OCBC Credit Card
30 November 2015 : RM600.00 (deposit)

“Average Daily Account Balance” calculation = RM3620.00
Formula:- [RM200 x 9 days] + [RM5200 x 15 days] + [RM4700 x 5 days] + [RM5300 x 1 day] divide by 30 Days in November

For both Scenarios, in November 2015, you will be entitled to Bonus Interest of 3.60%. With a base rate of 0.5% total interest earned is 4.10%. Do note that the base rate, unlike the Bonus Interest, is calculated daily.

So learn how the system works in order to find the best way to maximise the OCBC 360 Account.

1) this is a standalone topic for ocbc 360.
2) that is post #1, the TS (topic starter) need to maintain some information about the product/topic for discussion. it is NOT a sales pitch.
3) you prefer fd/asnb, then discuss in those topics. why come here which is NOT relevant to you at all?

Just in case it doesn't work by tomorrow, it's not too late to contact CS.

During my account opening, the banker already help tag my existing debit card to the account.

Account was open 3 days(Saturday) ago. and I just call bank, he said that tagging debit card and "online transaction" tag is different. Means the online transaction is not activated by default. Need to call for activation. I asked why and was responded that some customers opt not to have online transaction and just to view balance only.

Need to wait the guy to submit. He said do it as "urgent" case, later (hope) he will call me for second round verification. Normal case usually need 2-3days. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
