Wow didn't realise its been 3 years, I wonder what's the best option now? 65" entry level prices start as low as rm2k+ it's become the 55" prices 3 years before. Why do u need optical cable for 5.1 instead of using hdmi with audio return?
*
ya, tv prices nosedived in the last year or so.

4k 50" now quite common 2k or below.

not shopping anymore since i am happy with this ue630x and the newer ua8600x.

sharp have neither the best of the best models with all the highest ratings nor the high prices like rm8k, 10k.

i like them for their reasonable PQ, androidtv, durability and price.

i use optical audio for the ue630x becos the avr is old (not sure if there is ARC!) and the remote is gone... can't set anything but just use the front panel buttons.

ue630x...

this tv of mine has reached 3 years; hope nobody's unit gone kaput! biggrin.gif

i hope everyone who has this tv is still enjoying it as much as i do.

stable with android6, all apps working nicely, incl netflix, youtube, astrogo, zaltv, etc.

the wifi module is pretty good, can do all i want it to 60ft from the router.

bought a new optical cable->avr for prologicII 5.1 audio, all is good. smile.gif

Hi bro, just a quick check if this TV supports 5Ghz Wifi band or only 2.4Ghz as it can't detect my Unifi 5Ghz band?

2.4 and 5ghz.

5ghz will show only if signal is strong enough.

if 5ghz too weak, it will fall back on the 2.4ghz.

if u hv 300, 500, 800mbps speed, replace stock router with a better one.

if your tv is not too far from router (<30ft best), the tv can give u all the good stuff with 5ghz.

630x shud b same as 6800x - tv wifi 5ghz can get >200mbps.

if far, like 50-60ft, 5ghz may not show, tv will fall back to 2.4ghz.

I'm on 630x. Modem & Router currently placed right below TV thus could be due to weak 5Ghz signal from TM DIR-850L router. Thanks buddy! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Will it be better for ethernet cable directly connected to the router or WiFi?

the tv ethernet port is not gigabit, limited to max 100mbps.

if u have >100mbps speed, wifi can get u >200mbps if distance is not far.

then again, such high speed is not necessary for most android apps.

this applied to both ue630x and ua6800x.

i think almost all TV's are limited to 100mbps ethernet.

So, if u hv higher speed, u can rely on wifi to do better if u need.

my ua6800x is just next to router, getting 230mbps wifi 5ghz.

my ue630x is 60ft away upstairs, getting 30mbps wifi 2.4ghz.

both delivering same thing for all my apps incl netflix HD, zaltv, cloudtv, astrogo... all smooth.

these days, the tech is there, all quite easy to get what u want, typically. smile.gif

Done all the installation and can view all the preview movies icons but unable to move or go to any tv channels. Can only scroll up and down only. I am using the remote control provided by sharp.

haven't used it for a long time.

just tried... it works fine, like i expected.

i assume yr tv is on android 6.

checklist:

.. unifitv playtv 7.9.2.
.. sideload with es file explorer or x-plore.
.. make sure u key in right id/pw.
.. u need combination of mouse and tv remote (the main one, not the one with mousepad).
becos some functions work with remote only, some with mouse only - click, drag.
.. check yr mouse battery; try diff usb ports.
.. go to settings, about, restart the android.

astrogo is an app.

it's free if u have another subscriber's registered id/pw.
every subscriber can have up to 4 devices using it at any one time.
what the subscriber get with decoder, u get on the app... lower quality but the hd channels are very ok.
