Great price.

That price was for 58 in 2 years ago!

I was deciding between this or the newer 60" 440 which can be had for Rm3899 also with 2+3 years warranty too, but finally decided to go for broke because size does matter tongue.gif

yes, size does matter!

i don't think 440 is newer, about same.

diff is one is androidtv, the other is not.

u will like this ue tv - picture quality and androidtv.

only one thing not so good - the usb playback module is weak.

if u do a lot of playback, get a good box player, the tv will deliver wonderful clarity and colors.

I've been looking at the entry level Sony 7000 series which is also going for rm5k+ for 65" but the picture quality seems worse than the older W850 full HD. I think only 8000 series is decent.

Thanks for the tips.
At first I was a bit apprehensive to splurge this kind of money for not the latest model, considering this model doesn't even come with HDR, but the picture quality is more than enough to justify my selection over the Samsung/LG 6 series or the Sony 7 series which can be had for around 5-6k region

HDR for TV is meaningful only if u have HDR player, HDR sources and HDR AVR as well.

HDR sources are available but are in genuine Bluray 4k HDR discs - consider the costs... and an HDR BD player

Then u need an HDR AVR too for pass thru if using home theater.

Good soft media 4K is still rare and hard to get (with good reason), let alone 4k HDR... trust me. biggrin.gif

The time will come, maybe 3-4 years from now... but for now, HDR does not come into play for most people.

Still, highest grade soft media 1080p bluray HD audio is good enough, TV delivers very well with upscaling to 2160p.

media player.. there are all kinds... do not stinge when buying one if u r into big heavy files playback - price does matter!

You made the right choice. Let your eyes guide you, not the technical specs. To date unfortunately my eyes tell me Oled is the way to go, but my wallet tells me otherwise.

Thanks guys...
Considering my medias are the normal BluRays that I bought to play on my defunct PS3 and those BR rip movies, I doubt I will be playing HDR until few years from now.
By that time, hopefully OLED is more affordable just like the current 55" UHD TV.

OLED picture definitely looks nicer, but the price for the 65" model can get me a 75 to 80" UHD TV

HDR is becoming very common now as a lot of games in PS4 and movies/series in netflix are stream in HDR and dolby vision.

i think this will be the trend for for 2018. unless you plan to change the your TV next year, its good to go for a TV which supports HDR or Dolby Vision.

However, supporting HDR/Dolby Vision doesnt really mean that you can fully enjoy the quality. Other than OLED/Quantum Dot or Laser projector, most other TV could not really give you the full HDR effect.

Date & time keep resetting to default after shutting off, need to change every time meh?
connection to internet through wifi and already set to update automatically...

Bought this for the love of android tongue.gif

How bad is the sound compared to LG? I must say LG sound is really good, vol above 20 is too loud.

Do you mean the TV unable to sync to the Wifi network time each time after reboot?

It sounds a bit soft and lack of bass... Using tv equalizer setting also not much improvement...

yes, i know cannot expect much from tv speaker but guess i'm used to LG sound mantra...

need to invest in sound bar next smile.gif

time/date failed to sync after reboot eventhough connected to wifi/internet & set to auto update
anything i missed here?

Audio... if u hv already tried all the options, thats it.

Time n date... something not right... recheck network and time date settings.

If using the android a lot, best to set to static ip, google dns.

Done factory reset, check router setting, etc. but the date/time doesn't auto update still...

I have android box as well but it auto update no problem, setting in the box and tv is mainly the same...

I noticed that this happen only when i switch off the power from the wall socket, if I just switch off through tv remote and leave the wall socket on, date/time is ok...

Is this some bug with android v6.0.1 maybe? Do you guys with v5.1 has this problem if you switch off your wall socket?

Not sure if the TV has it, but could be a bad CMOS battery.

Most probably it dooesn't use/have CMOS battery because my android box when first ON the date/time also back to default but then it auto update/sync properly when internet/wifi connected...

But my tv refuse to sync the time/date even with internet/wifi is ok...

A good slap to the tv's head might correct it maybe? tongue.gif

Is the USB port on the 630X can only read HDD formatted in FAT and FAT32 as stated in the manual?
Can it read exFat and NTS too?

The installer just delivered and installed the TV but only my wife and her aunt is at home.
It can read the USB file from the installer's thumb drive but can't detect my HDD

standby power is just a fraction of a watt.
total power cut off have no advantage but potentially can cause the opsys to be problematic.
i would think power cut off cause the tv functions incl the androidtv to take more time to start up.
the time/date function is delayed too, should come back if u give it more time.
i have seen this.

like i mentioned in a previous post, the usb playback is poor.
small drives, thumbdrives work OK.
it does not like big hdd with many files names.
does not like certain hdd brands and certain formats.
try hot mount, cold mount, it work sometimes.
