Uhmmm.. I dunno, but I assume it is the complete thing since all you need for the release system to work is to have the actuator + the actuator rod. If your boot doesn't have the padding, take a look inside around the latch area and you will see the lock mechanism. There are two metal parts of the lock mechanism with holes, and one of them will cause the lock to be released when it is pushed down, which is where the actuator rod probably connects to.

Don't think so. The alarm system seems to already have this feature included. Pressing /holding the alarm button when the car is unlocked should cause the remote trunk release to operate. There is no mention of an additional button for this operation anywhere in the manual.

i also have this problem, with all my four doors leaking !! re-doing door wheather sheild also same. lastly i just poke holes on door rubber liner, to allow water flowing out during raining and ultimately solved my problem !!

Mind asking which black oil is good for persona engine? currently i have been driving my persona for almost 6 years, all the while im using helix semi syntactic
any other recommend oil?

after 6 years,better change your valve gasket cover,then use 5W-30 semi sync/5W-40 fully.I prefer Eneos.

can you snap photo of where you poke the holes?
mine also leaking recently. weather sheet all 4 doors were sticked tight 2 years ago, don't tell me every 1-2 years need to open door panel to stick again, not a permanent solution. i suspect the water flow is towards inside the door rubber, not a good design...

mind to explain why use 5w/30 semi instead of 10w/40?

my car age also 5.5 year, been using 10w/40 semi all the time.

lighter more fuel economy.i have been using 5W-30 since last 7 years on my Persona.No problem.

u have to pokes few hole in order for water to go inside the rubber. in my case i made three hole for rear door and four for front door.

that's true. over the weekend i traveled about 250km with half a tank. mostly "highways" (LDP, Federal, Sprint) mixed with city driving (PJ, Klang, KL). that's right after a change of engine oil 5W-30 semi.
