Not sure how much shops charge for spraying the handle. I'd send it to a shop cause I don't think I'd do a good job. But if you would like to try, you can get spray cans with the right colour for your car from here.

Persona so? Gosh so fast already leaking

Have you check the door seals? All intact? How about the weather sheet inside the passenger door?

water leaking issue is not easy to solve.

Leaking issue is easy to solve. The hard part is only sticking "shields" to cover up parts of the door where water can enter like the door clip holes, or sticking the weather sheet back.

Super Saiya regarding water leaks in persoga.

QUOTE(Nicheadison @ Apr 26 2015, 03:27 AM)
Item(s): Proton Persona Wet Carpet / Water Leak Repair
[attachmentid=4427703]

I know a lot of Proton Persona owners have this wet carpet/water leak problem. I myself experienced it twice  mad.gif
If you find that there is some water in the "longkang" of the rubber (pointed by arrow above) after rainy day, then there is a high possibility that water may get into your cabin.

The problem is actually due to poor seal of the plastic water shield behind the door trim. Some possible causes of poor seal:
1. Improper seal after power window repair (My driver side door as shown, messy black seal compared to the proper seal)
[attachmentid=4426447]  [attachmentid=4426449]
2. Removal of the plastic water seal after soundproofing of the door
3. Upgrade / Install speakers
4. Etc

I am here to provide you the solution. Alternatively, you may DIY to resolve it. But if you are not confident to do so or don't want to get dirty, just contact me  thumbup.gif I have opened the door trim for a lot of time to troubleshoot & do the soundproofing  brows.gif

Package includes:
1. Replace door water shield plastics (Original from Proton)
[attachmentid=4426451]
2. Reseal door water shield with new Butyl tape
[attachmentid=4426452]
3. Replace damage door clip caused by me during dismantlement, if any (Using Original Clip from Proton)
[attachmentid=4426450]

Price: RM250 for 4 doors (Sorry, repair for less than 4 doors is not provided  sweat.gif )

Warranty: No Warranty, test before you leave  thumbup.gif

Dealing method: On-site Repair & COD
-I provide on-site repair for area near Jalan Klang Lama (OUG, Kuchai Lama, Sri Petaling, Bukit Jalil, etc, please whatsapp to confirm) with no extra charge.
-However, please make sure the place is safe and have enough space for me to work  thumbup.gif

Location of seller: Jalan Klang Lama

Contact method/details: Nic, 016-501 Five Three One Five (Whatsapp or SMS only)

Age of item: New

Item(s) conditions: New

Picture:

Reason for sale: Wanna help Persona owner to solve this annoying problem and at the same time earn extra money  thumbup.gif

FAQ:
Why do I have to replace the plastic water shield?

-Although you can use back the plastic water shield, it is highly recommended to replace it during repair as it may be contaminated with dirt & oil, and it may not stick well to the Butyl tape, causing recurring problem

Picture of dirty plastic water shield
[attachmentid=4426448]

If you want to do soundproof for your Proton Persona door, I can do it for you also  brows.gif
[attachmentid=4426453] [attachmentid=4426454]
RM450 for 4 doors or RM250 for 2 doors (including 1 layer of Edifier vibration damping material on inner part of the door skin + 1 layer of 3M Thinsulate on the door trim)
*Price for the above soundproof is applicable to water leak repair customer only, non-customer need extra RM50
Effect: More solid door closing sound, slightly reduced external noise, "softer" motorcycle & lorry pass by noise (My advice is not to soundproof ONLY the doors too heavily, or else you will have more obvious tyre & engine noise & super heavy door  doh.gif )

Here are some pictures of my repair done for my driver side door's weather sealing, which recently started allowing a bit of water to pass through:

Not so neat cause I had a rather blunt scissors.

Basically one of the fix is to apply a bit of windscreen sealant (butyl tape) in a U shape on the inside of the door frame for the clip holes that are located around the mid to the lower part of the door before sticking on a layer of book plastic wrapper for each of the holes to shield the clips from water. For the door weather seal, you can choose to cover the entire door like the original weather plastic sheet or just cover the important parts individually.

However, if your door's original weather seal is in a good condition and just needs a fresh layer of butyl tape to stop water from passing through, scrape off the old tape if required and apply the new tape accordingly onto the door following the pattern that Proton did it in. There are some tiny holes that you must not cover to allow any trapped water to escape, and you should be able to spot such holes easily. I ripped mine off cause it was already pretty dirty and slightly torn in certain spots.
I see. Been suffering from wiper judder under light rain conditions for a long time now doh.gif. Really annoyed cause I need to regulate the speed of the wiper myself to stop it from being annoying. Luckily it's totally smooth under heavy rain.

This is the quotation I got from Proton Parts Centre for the Remote Trunk Release System. Planning to get it tomorrow from PPC since it's pretty damn cheap. The connector for it is already there, or at least it is for my boot. smile.gif
