May I know how long it take for a call to interview?

I applied during April and got a callback on June for interview. I think you might follow up with them. I used to call to their office number and request to speak to him. HAHA

Hi, it is interesting to read the discussions here.

I got a call from one of the big4 and they emailed me a preliminary assessment, the assessment looks like a personality test and I answered it with my first instinct as the instruction required me to do so. At first I thought the result will only be referred by the HR to understand more about myself but I am extremely surprise to receive an email from them replying that the firm will not proceed my application anymore the following day after the assessment. The questions were all MCQ, very subjective with no exact answers for each questions. I am wondering how a firm can judge a person by only referring to the result of a 20 minutes test. Its quite upsetting... Anyone knows what are the problems or reasons behind this? I am just a little curious about it. Thanks

The test is designed to gauge a persons overall IQ and EQ.

And in regards to job, its always a supply and demand kind of thing. Better luck next time. thumbsup.gif

Means that Big 4 firm does not like to recruit people with your personality lo.

Some firms like to recruit competitive ppl who are very driven. Some firms like more easy going ppl. So happened that you are not what this Big 4 firm is looking for.

Instead of being upset, think of it being a blessing in disguise because even if you got it, you may be miserable due to not blending in well.

I applied for my internship last time. Drop my resume at their booth and they called me back after 1-2 weeks if I'm not wrong. Interview process was quite easy (might be because of the position that I'm applying). Had some basic computer skill test and then followed by face to face interview. Overall quite casual and ok

Cuz i just interned one of the BIG4 and I hate it.

Exactly, and in fact there are companies with higher starting salary than the BIG4.

But from a long term perspective, do you think if I started out in consulting in BIG4, are my job prospects better than if I start off in banks but higher salary?

One bank is offering RM5000 for fresh graduate for their mgt trainee program.
Big4 is offering RM3100 for fresh graduate.

Which one should I choose? Dilemma here doh.gif

Hi guys

Hope everyone is doing good here!!

I was recently invited to an interview session with KPMG Global Compliance Management Services team. Understand from the recruiter that this is a newly established department in KPMG Malaysia

Did any of you hear of this team before? Mind to share some insights about this team especially the day-to-day job scope?

Thanks in advance to all!

Depends you are seeking money or mobility. For example, you might find that strategy manager earn more but there is only 1 opening compared to finance manager that has 5 opening. Maybe the question you should ask is, do you want to be a specialist or general

Hi guys, I received a call from mazars on 7th August offering me audit assistant position. Until today they have not call me to collect offer letter. Should I call back to ask about it or they will hands in the offer letter to me on the first day of work?

I did get a call in the end, 5-6 months after i applied thumbup.gif

-----------------------------------------
Well, the reason I'm writing this post is because I haven't really seen anyone post a full rejection story so I'll gladly share mine to help out any other poor or suffering soul who is stuck in the same situation as I was. This story in particular is about PwC which was my first choice (that's why very sad la T_T)

I wrote a post about whether to give up on my PwC application some time ago. I applied in June, tried calling like crazy in July but just could not get through. Luckily, I was advised in this forum to try in August. My phone call managed to get through in August and they told me that the next intake is in December but I would get a call in September if I made it otherwise I could call back. They only have selected intakes per year and the closing date for each intake is quite early. My application in June would mean that it would be considered for next upcoming intake in December.

So, I finally made the big call today (though I already kind of knew I was probably not selected) and it took me a few tries to finally get through to the department + connected to the recruiter in charged. The recruiter was pretty busy (internship recruitment period too I guess) so my morning call was wasted but I was told to call back around lunchtime. I did that and she was on the line - so I was told to call back like half and hour later. I did but line didn't go through, took me about a few more tries before I was lucky.

The recruiter was very busy but nice enough to answer my questions (I'm not going to reveal her name here but yes, it was a lady recruiter). I asked about my application status and I was told that their next intake is in January 2018. Reason given was that they had only a few positions available in December which is already full. She also mentioned that if I made it for the January intake, I would receive a call at the end of this month/early next and also kindly reminded me to update my PwC profile. Of course I was not so silly to not be able to read in between the lines that I was not selected.

I was feeling a bit dejected just now. Since receiving my "we're currently reviewing your application" in June about 2 weeks from my application date, I had some hope that I might make it. At least I did not receive a straight-out "we don't have a position that matches your qualification" email like my friend. But looking back, maybe that would have been better from the start rather than waiting and hoping like crazy. sighs Even till the end, I was not rejected outright (which I don't know to feel thankful for or cry about it).

That's the end flex.gif good luck to anyone else who is job-searching!

Do you mind to share what is your qualification?
I was told you can easily get into the interview stage if you have ACCA qualification rather a bachelor degree holder. hmm.gif
Then from that interview, they can find out whether you are not capable for the job.
