Correct.

If you've not filed your income tax yet and you have not received any communication from IRAS, then maybe it would be good to call them up to check and inform them of the situation. Unless, your total income in 2015 is less than $22,000. If it is less than $22,000 then you will not be taxed.

Definitely lesser than $22,000. since not fully work for one whole year.
So I might bypass to submit income tax. rclxms.gif

Your company is right. They'll issue you the cp21 and withhold your last salary. You have to send the cp21 to LHDN, file your last tax return (Jan 2016 until whichever date you stop working in msia), obtain a tax clearance letter, send a copy of that too your company. Then your company will release your last salary.

With the tax clearance letter, you will not need to file Malaysia income tax until you go back to work in msia again.

how difficult it is to get a job thru jobstreet. mainly in science or manufacturing. saw loads of lab technician jobs, tended towards microbio/chem especially.... but i do not have relevant background in those.. i do possess a Bsc anyway and few years non related experience.

i honestly prefer a stable steady routine clock in clock out job.

i just wonder given the apparently reccessing economy and laid off in Sg, but isnt that towards the middle aged high earning execs..
cuz apparently, their salary and compensation are much higher and doesnt tally the amount of work they actually contribute.
*
Very difficult. Jobstreet is a very popular job hunting platform, for every job posted there are 100 applicants. You know your probability already

To get into S'pore it's easier if you know friends or family who can recommend you into S'pore companies. According to a HR study, 70% of jobs in companies are never advertise. If no suitable internal candidates or recommendations, then only it'll get advertise

Your last statement there will not go well with senior members. You are stereotyping too much. Companies hire high post with different expectation or KPI, commensurate with market rate pay for them. Eventually you will reach that position in the future. You'll know you sounded foolish for coming out with that statement later when it hit you back

True that. I won't say that I'm annoyed or such but am more amused really. It just shows that you have much to learn.
If you ask me, the real key is to keep oneself relevant. Don't stagnate and rest in your, again for the lack of a better word, comfort zone.
It is much harder to recruit and retain a proven senior management kaki with relevant experience compared to getting a young eager freshie lor. Getting head hunted is quite refreshing, as compared to having to job search.

Just wondering, anyone here get blacklisted by MOM before and unable to come in Singapore to work? Any other chances to appeal? If employer really wants to hire you.

Yes this is the right / clean way to do it. But I suppose many Malaysians (and probably lots of them in this thread) don't bother. Just come to SG and work, next March/April do Malaysia tax filing to claim back all the overpaid PCB, then every year after that just declare zero income. Or don't declare at all, who knows.

Out of curiousity, why did you get blacklisted?
Might be useful for us to understand the things MOM looks at

Mind reveal what kind of experience you have? If you want science related job maybe you can try sales in medical devices / bio companies, or patients follow up that kind of job.

P.s. Such jobs needs polite and meticulous person, not the desperate one. biggrin.gif

Put jobs with 5.5WD or with alternate Saturdays as your priorities, these are the jobs that are less competitive.

Tax clearance is when you leave the country and want to close your tax file. It's the same thing as income tax basically, you still need to pay your taxes owed for when you worked in Singapore.

You said your employer forgot to file IR21 for you. Did they deduct your salary for tax as well? Did you stop work at 30 Nov or 31 Dec? Your employer hr could have been confused over the correct procedure.

Anyway, since your employer did not file IR21, you will need to do your own tax clearance. Please set aside 15% of your entire 3 month salary (including allowances, bonus, etc) to pay the tax.

You are lucky BTW, because this year onwards the tax rate is 22% biggrin.gif

Hi, thanks for replies my question. Ya, your are right, my employer are the one have been miss and confused over the correct procedure.
Now have to pay. and it doesn't not matter whetjer 15% or 22%, both still need up paying RM x000 ++ cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

why dont you try to renew your REP now online and see if it goes through. It only take 10 secs to know the results.

No, you need months of patience to get a reply from the employer unless you have the skills that they needed.
