Got call from HR last Thurs (about 3pm) and was told I was offered the job. She confirmed my highest qualification and promised to call back by end of the day/ tomorrow for salary package. But it's Monday now and no news. And I found our my qualification is not up to what they required in job posting.

Should I send them a email or give them a call then? I don't want to sound desperate though.

Btw since 1 March 2016, landlords have to register your name under your accommodation - if gov happen to have a spotcheck and you're not staying in the address you provided to MOM, you'll have trouble when renewing/ getting your passes.

Stay in accomm who someone take the whole unit and real with landlord - Pros : you get the freedom, chatting with visiting friends in living room, take your time enjoying cooking and bathing, chin cai cleaning when you don't feel like doing it. Cons - you might be paying more than the market price, the guy deal with landlord just keep secret of the total rent and put a larger portion of rent on the other tenants, you've no idea how he/she deal with the landlord, ending up he's the perfect tenants and you're the troublesome one. House could be messy where things just sporadically settle on floor. Fridge pack with rotten food.

Stay with landlord - usually cleaner tidier and equipments got fixed shortly if spoil. But unfriendly landlords can pry into your life. A friend of mine was told by her landlord "i heard the sound of water directly go onto the floor when you're bathing, can you switch the shower off when you're applying your shampoo?" And they could be control freak, stating the frequency and time for kitchen and washing machine, setting up a lot of fines, or even ask you to babysit their child.

I know rental in pasir ris is like $300-350 for twin share. Not sure if you want areas closer to changi though. If your working hours is as retail line then live in jb still considerable. If not you'll spend long long hours traveling.

(ii) I signed mine after hr explained to me one by one (took more than half an hour). I like this since I can get clarifications on the spot. Found out some other questions regarding traveling allowance after signing it but I was desperate for job at that time.
(iii) bonds are not common in normal office jobs but depends on your company policies and your job as well.

Google map says 40mins by public transport. Can try simei bedok IMO these places have quite cheap rental. I think areas near to changi should have ok-ish rental due to lower population density.

Google "[area name] rent" and you get to see the webs. I found mine on propertyguru. All listing are done by agents but often no agent fee applies on tenants unless stated. You can just text the agent regarding landlord/other tenants/fee details before arranging a view.

If you want to get shared room can try on gumtree, but the information is a bit messy.

I have but that's in malaysia not sg. It does leave a bad impression to the rejected one. I'd say make your decision based on the company size and field. If you work in a small niche better dont let them to have a chance to bad mouth you but again, if it's SME vs mnc everyone know the choice.

Any recommended webs for getting second hand stuff?

Many of my friends earn barely cross over the salary threshold for spass but holding EP. The recuiters get this done by putting the (initial)salary high to issue EP, later tell sg gov that this person is not bringing in transport thus transportation alliwance deducted and salary lower.

Is there any time limitation in acquiring PE? My dentist friend told me to get dental recognition in sg you can only sit the exam TWICE in your LIFE and both attemps have to be within ONE year. Crazy.

Inform the person who called you up and try to defer it for a year? Then go after Spm if you still want to maintain your pr status.

I stay in an old hdb. So, here's the thing - whenever I go home late - like 10+pm, I can see cockroaches beside the drains. Just be the first glance the one or two drains have more than 10 cockroaches. Even on shaded corridors with lights on you can see racing cockroaches, clearly not afraid of human. I guess that's the reason some of the first floor families have cats.

Is this a normal thing in old hdb? Or can I report to some institute for pest control?

Ps. I really really cannot tahan these creatures. Not even with them within my eyesight.

If you have friend plan to stay with you can easily get 650-750/2pax in boon lay/jurong east areas. Too bad I can't get one. End up 500 single room.

But I found that rooms posted by malaysian (esp the sub-rent) are packed, can up to 6-8pax in the unit. I think agents are fine as long as you meet the right person (and remember mention you don't want to pay agent fee!).

Actually a lot of properties from agents posted on propertuguru got mention no agent fee applies. Simply because the landlords have paid them.it's against the law for them to ask for payments from both sides(landlord & tenant).

I found mine through agent without paying them, only the $24 e-stamping fee for legalization of rental agreement.

Mind reveal what kind of experience you have? If you want science related job maybe you can try sales in medical devices / bio companies, or patients follow up that kind of job.

P.s. Such jobs needs polite and meticulous person, not the desperate one.

Put jobs with 5.5WD or with alternate Saturdays as your priorities, these are the jobs that are less competitive.

Can a WP holder with basic saving account opens a trading account?

I have an all-in-one insurance from company but thinking of getting myself a critical diseases insurance, so buy in malaysia or sg, which is a better option?
