Calling 100 sucks... everytime i call , they say ok wait will check , transfer call to tech on hold...20-30 minutes .. i fed up and hang up..
Today i call on Hold.. for 50 minutes ..wtf..

So i went to tmpoint today. girl said its RM199.. not RM179...?? LOL, then i ask if i can have 2 unifi since i only want to terminate after confirm 30mb works and not have downtime of no internet for 1-2 weeks..tech/installer missing la or w/e excuse, she say no only 1per house..

Is that true ? Do anyone know if its possible to apply for new 30mb while still using old 10mb in the same house.Terminate 10mb only after successful installation of the new 30mb?Have anyone tried ?

I dont want to upgrade since they refuse to change equipment since they say its working even tough hppytv box tend to hang, im using my own router, phone suck..use 20-30 minutes..it dies,

So lame i been using telekom since dial up 14.4k when i were only getting charge 10 cent PER CALL almost 20 years now. upgrade to ISDN then streamyx and then unifi.

So frustrating always get different answer, sales say this account maintenance say that, tm point say this that..now let see what lowyat says smile.gif

to me I just need 5Ghz frequency. less interference  thumbup.gif

That is when it is out laugh.gif . Future proofing doesn't really work much in the computing world laugh.gif

5ghz is better because devices nowadays have support for 5ghz

would like to point out one of keypoints that being mentioned by fellow forumers here earlier on, that wifi interference would affect the speed. If you launch wifi analyzer app, you can see how many wifi connections intersects to each other, and you have no option to change channel as well, even N12HP only allows till channel 11, so the golden question now is which router is the cheapest that provides channel broadcast that more than 11, as well as to broadcast 5GHz? I think this might solve the mystery.

I get that. There is channel 12 and 13, but one thing with that is compatibility. Some devices(iPhone in particular) don't recognise channel 12 and 13 because of the regulation, so you end up with some people unable to connect when they come to your house and that may not be a good choice.

yes, we should rectify the real issue, as not everyone able to afford rm1k router, so the best bet is still what would be the lowest / or what are the best resolutions we can make it from stock / n12hp / or any affordable router range. and still, the golden nugget question is how do we minimize wifi interference?

anyway, I can say that you don't really need that much of processing power that a 1k router will provide. I've already told you the solution earlier, configure and put ur stock router upstairs as AP(via direct lan/homeplug)/repeater sweat.gif

Tell your wife not to use the microwave, your son not to turn on the tv, your neighbors not to turn on their wifi devices and router brows.gif it will feel like a bit of troll but its the truth.

Hello fellow Unifi users. I just want to ask...

A dude called me last month for Unifi 30mbps upgrade for RM199. Same story la, now I feel scammed. However, I was shocked when I found out my bill was RM239!! With the extra from the HyppTV Aneka pack. When their current promo is only RM179 for my exact same package.

Is it true that if I go complain at a TM point they will fix it to the current package of RM179 for 30mbps + HyppTV Aneka?

Can try to consider Asus RT-AC1200HP.

Retail: RM399, if buy from Lazada can get additional 15% or more discount + RM50 Jusco Voucher (Depend on Seller)

Total cost: Less than RM300 for an AC grade router with 300 Mbps (2.4 GHz - N) + 867 Mbps (5 GHz - AC) ~ 1200 Mbps total connectivity bandwidth.

Just asking if anyone from Banting town area upgraded to Unifi. They just recently released Unifi in Banting and I was thinking of upgrading it but unsure if the connection is good over here.

:haha: 50 minutes must be your personal record XD anyway, sorry to hear that.

I think "maybe" this RM179 promo price is only valid for online signup? Same thing happened to me when I signed up for the VIP5. Apparently for some odd reasons, I cannot apply for VIP5 online so after a thousand tries, i got fed up and drop by my nearest TMpoint. The thing is this, if you sign up online, the 1st month subscription fee is waived but not so if you sign up at TMpoint. After inquiring, the TMpoint told me that I'm not eligible for the 1st month subscription waiver. I think you may be a "victim" of this.

What the salesperson told you may be true. You cannot have 2 services registered on the same address. So, it's either "this" or "that", no "this" and that". It's either you terminate or you opt for an upgrade. Regarding your old equipment, I think not too much to worry because if your upgrade is successful then you will be bound by a fresh contract for 24 months, i think the warranties also gets renewed but just to be safe, check with them OR alternatively, these devices could be "damaged" by "Acts of God". *who knows*.

I'm currently on the old Unifi plan more than 4 years now.
If i upgrade to the new Unifi Advance.
1. What will happen to my old unifi modem/router ? given new hardware?
2. What will happen to my current unifi service, will they terminate it a few days before they setup my new unifi or they just upgrade it without any service interruption. I need the unifi everyday to do my job, can't lose it even 1 day. Do i need to cancel the old unifi before the new unifi setup ?

Can someone help?

I just recently upgraded to 30mbps but I'm only getting 9.50mbps max.
I'm using wired connection though wireless also giving the same speed.
All basic troubleshooting has been done like restarting router/modem.

same problem with me... this may help

Finally after half a dozen times calling 100, they just kept resetting the port until I argued to insist them to send their technician, help arrived today.

Long story short, it was the configuration on their side. Average speed is now at 32Mbps. rclxm9.gif

Today I received call from tm again offering 30mbps upgrade with maintain free call fixed line to fixed line as per in vip10 package.
-600 mins tm fixed line to mobile/ others local telco
-aneka/vikram and ruby add rm10 from rm179
-wifi hotspot id no longer giving unlimited data.

Felt like there are some pro and con about this new package. I took the offer with ruby package at rm189 exclude gst. Hopefully i took the right move and not hearing wrong on the offering.

In the website stated a little different on the voice plan 600 mins charges at rm20 optional package. Abit worry they charges rm20 more for the voice plan 600mins.

Is it still unlimited data ? Does anybody notice they throttle the torrent speed with this new plan.

Does UniFi Advance have a Fair Usage Policy (FUP)?
ALL Residential UniFi Advance packages are subject to the Fair Usage Policy (FUP). FUP is a standard global practice to ensure that good quality of experience is provided to all customers.

1. If upgrade you won't get any new equipment via calling TM, but if you go to TM point and try to negotiate maybe you can, but will depend on your negotiation skills.
2. without any service interruption if upgrade directly

An alternative method is subscribe another line for 30Mb/s or 50Mb/s plan and after it is up and running go and terminate old line, I can help you with that PM me if you need help with this (this way you will get new equipment) without having to go to TM point or negotiating (this way is without any service interruptions also)

And another alternative method is terminate old line before subscribing new line this way also you can get new equipmets

TM agent just called me up to upgrade my office line. I said no (need the high upload speed more than download, and symmetrical), then I asked if they are going to offer 100mbps next year, the agent said: "still in planning, but we don't know when will launch that plan yet."

Funny thing is that the agent need to put my call on hold to check about the 100mbps plan.

Let's say i go to TMPoint said upgrade, if they don't give any new equipment, does the technician need come to my house for installation ? Since they use back all those old equipment and old phone line, they just need to adjust the port speed limit, and no one need to come to my house right ?

My equipment is the old D-link Dir-615 & a little new Huawei HG655M (free change after hardware failure)
