I'm currently on the old Unifi plan more than 4 years now. If i upgrade to the new Unifi Advance. 1. What will happen to my old unifi modem/router ? given new hardware? 2. What will happen to my current unifi service, will they terminate it a few days before they setup my new unifi or they just upgrade it without any service interruption. I need the unifi everyday to do my job, can't lose it even 1 day. Do i need to cancel the old unifi before the new unifi setup ?

Is it still unlimited data ? Does anybody notice they throttle the torrent speed with this new plan. Does UniFi Advance have a Fair Usage Policy (FUP)? ALL Residential UniFi Advance packages are subject to the Fair Usage Policy (FUP). FUP is a standard global practice to ensure that good quality of experience is provided to all customers. https://www.tm.com.my/allnewunifi/pages/faq.html#collapse8

QUOTE(MyPIA @ Nov 2 2015, 06:30 PM) 1. If upgrade you won't get any new equipment via calling TM, but if you go to TM point and try to negotiate maybe you can, but will depend on your negotiation skills. 2. without any service interruption if upgrade directly An alternative method is subscribe another line for 30Mb/s or 50Mb/s plan and after it is up and running go and terminate old line, I can help you with that PM me if you need help with this (this way you will get new equipment) without having to go to TM point or negotiating (this way is without any service interruptions also) And another alternative method is terminate old line before subscribing new line this way also you can get new equipmets Let's say i go to TMPoint said upgrade, if they don't give any new equipment, does the technician need come to my house for installation ? Since they use back all those old equipment and old phone line, they just need to adjust the port speed limit, and no one need to come to my house right ? My equipment is the old D-link Dir-615 & a little new Huawei HG655M (free change after hardware failure)

QUOTE(jusbella @ Nov 2 2015, 08:58 PM) No, it's ceased. Cannot register anymore, old customer retain the plan. I'm existing old unifi vip10 customer. If they are going to reduce the price for old plan few months later, then maybe i wouldn't upgrade to new unifi advance since i'm pretty satisfy with the speed now, especially upload speed. Is there any new plan from maxis or new competitor like MyRepublic coming soon ? Should i upgrade now or wait longer to see what happen ....

QUOTE(tritonite @ Nov 6 2015, 05:54 PM) Most likely RM149, so they have a direct upgrade for people on VIP5 at the moment. Apparently, a lot of subscribers cannot justify the extra RM30 for Advance 30 because they just don't need that speed. Will probably also help new applications not wanting an entry point at RM179. There is a NEW package coming ? When, speed 10mbps ? I'm on the VIP10 plan now, i just need something below $150.

I suspect the Tmnet/Unifi is changing from a good international Pipe/Backbone to a low quality cheap bad international pipe/backbone, in order to lower the traffic cost of 30mbps-50mbps.
My guess is they rent some low quality international pipe (half the cost or lower), that's why some youtube can't load, and for webmaster their USA server also suffer very huge latency lately.
Does anyone have some insider news ?

QUOTE(jusbella @ Dec 26 2015, 10:10 AM) No, it's not like that. The pipe is international standard and there it's the only one pipe. 30/50 they use asymmetrical while old one they use symmetrical which is better one. I'm not saying the asymmetrical or symmetrical or the cable that is underground in malaysia. If you are engineer, you will know that the there is several grade of pipe or backbone. Some pipe route directly to US/Europe, some go to maybe hong kong/singapore then US/Europe. That is your "Highway" to international server, some highway is is cheap and bad like your malaysia road with many pothole, some is very good one like germany highway but with higher cost.
