need to give budget. I suggest a 2nd hand Honda Accord 2.4 2015. The price is a steal considering the new is rm175k. Seriously FC much better than Campro CFE and best no more CVT

pardon, I have both preve and accord 2.0 9th gen and not sure why whenever I drive accord for few days I will miss the preve..feel solid compares to accord.. it doesn't mean that the accord is bad but something with preve rnh and chassis will make me feel more satisfy driving preve compares to accord.

also my Preve CFE from 1st batch (year 2012). After the 8th year, lotsa small issues cropping up. and every repair will cost 300-700. I spent around 5k in 1 year to repair all those small2 stuff. this not taking into account the turbo and CVT replacement which should last until 120k KM and anything after that is bonus time.

So finally decided to cut my losses and sell the car. Abit sad that i repaired alot of stuff in COSE but cant afford to continuously repair the car. Its a steady car but once its old, maintenance is pricey.
*
hi bro, can you list down all the small stuff u replaced at SC?

just to give a recommendation here if some of you guys feeling lost with your preve problem especially after warranty period, please be brave and try other bengkel other than SC especially the famous proton specialist bengkel which might try to reduce your repair cost by repairing certain item rather than replacing the whole assembly.

i bought my preve from used car on 2016, my car was manufactured on end 2014 and otr early 2015. since I got it from the used car dealer at 22k km mileage I never ever once park my car at SC for service or repairing. this is bcos my previous car ownership experience owning a saga flx for 4 years i just sent my car to my favourite proton specialist instead of SC... every part replacement or repairing are cheaper than sc u can choose oem parts or ori parts depends on your budget..

they will have time to check on the issue instead of just trying to replace this first and then see how later..normal sc style..

mind you the cost of maintaining car at the SC is expensive and its not limited to proton only..toyota honda sc and perodua sc also after warranty period ends it became more costly to maintained your car especially those wear and tear items...

the reason i wrote this is just to give some of you guys my fella preve frens more choice instead of relying on SC.

here i list those "bawah pokok" bengkel which mostly is proton specialist that can work on your car:

1. Tunerz Revolutions (recommended for all minor and major parts replacement)
2. Zordaq Motorsports
3. Gearboss Performance
4. EA Autoworks ( this one more to upgrade lol)
5. G car care ( a bit expensive)

You can search those bengkel feedback and review on google and Facebook page also some Facebook Group like
CFE & CVT Technical Discussion.

Im using accord gen9 2.4. Same time using office preve cfe. If compared FC, CFE drank more fuel than 2.4NA. I got average 8-9km/l while the other give 12-14km/l.

The jerkiness of CVT is a no for me, surprise how Proton actually choose this punch cvt during vendor selection, laggy, jerkiness (not sure from day 1 like this) as well at traffic jam, seem like the clutch is not sure to engage or disengage, and make engine almost die.
But agreed suspension preve is better than accord, feeling wise. I dont test it at every corner just driving work and outstation.

If only Preve come with a better engine + normal torque converter, it will be ok. And a better HU for long driving comfort

yes if powertrain wise preve cfe or other variant not even come close to honda powertrain bro. especially the 2.4 earth dreams engine..the 5 speed auto responded very well when you need to accelerate it will downshift instantly...suspension and chassis wise preve is better and somehow the solid feeling is what makes me return back to preve..

both also is a good car and the accord pretty much still handsome till today...it is one of the best choice if one were to upgrade their preve to D segment car..the 2.0l 2014 sell at 50k dy now.. buy it and change to tein endura pro plus damper with stock spring.. plonk in rear 19mm arb..should be ready to go..haha

Hi guys, i had bought and installed the electric harness for the blower fan, but the car still giving me check engine lamp which occurrd when i do relay testing tat time. I tried bought an obd device, it says the error code is P0481 which is cooling fan 2 control circuit. However the fan is running and there is no more issue now. Last checked relay no problem. Tried clear the fault, but everytime start car still have. Thinking of trying changing relay but then, maybe it is cheaper to just ask proton sc to clear the fault from their machine lol..

Tat day did check also motor winding, all okay and fan bearing no problem also. The fan is running fine, its just the melted harness.

Thinking to sell my 2012 preve cfe.

Does current civic 1.8 will make me feel underpowered? Or is it a tad better in performance?

Of course better. Civic is lighter than Preve, and more bigger engine capacity

Yes, my mistake. On paper the CFE is faster. Can reach peak torque 205Nm only at 2krpm vs 4.3k rpm 174Nm at 4.3k

If you ask me, i dont mind changing to NA Civic. Main reason is the better CVT and build quality hahah. About the engine performance since i drive a slow Preve NA, then i dont mine. And nowadays my driving style is more relaxed unlike the first 4 years i drive the Preve

But the Preve is almost half the prive of Civic

My car kept dying when at standstill. Especially when approaching traffic light. Even the SC is trying and testing every part without guarantee it’s the solution. Can’t afford to keep repairing la. And the gearbox I suspect was beginning to show signs of age. Repairing the gearbox and turbo will again cost a bomb.

Hi. Happened to me too previously. Try to check your spark plug and clean throttle body. Tq

the pro vs prefe cfe were:
1. FC. Campro cfe fuel is on the high side while Civic being 1.8NA + CVT give better FC, easily 14-15km/l
2. Better CVT being a torque converter CVT, more direct as opposed clutch-based cvt as preve. The jerkiness is almost none as Preve.

The no 2 makes u feel the car is easy to move, no need to push more.
