3. All cars start rattling after 3 years (except luxury cars like Merc), it indicates the need to change some parts like engine mounting. Rattling stops after replacement of these parts.
4. Yes, but can wait to see if there's any new version coming out with the joining of Geely. Preve hasn't been updated since its launch (just minor fixes).

1. first batch of Preve vs updated.. example CFE vs TURBO.. and latest variants of preve all come with 6 airbags vs 2 airbags below CFE and 4 airbags for CFE
2. not sure the definition of better.. most importantly, u should consider whether it is the car that u want from different aspect. preve aim for safety, spacious, handling.. TURBO is not for racing, but to assist in fuel consumption.
3. very hard to say.. but luckily mine dont have.. except the rear C pillar windows wind noise.. but settled it easily by DIY. also, changed engine mounting through warranty at around 40k mileage.
4. if u are new drivers with skills then no issue.. btw, any drivers can drive preve in normal situation.. only those situation like deep slope which need some basic knowledge.. handbrake, release brake, press pedal & release handbrake..

if u are constant highway driver, u can get 12~13km/l or below 8l per 100km.. if you are heavy city driver with a lot of jam, pls do expect 10l~12l per 100km (depending on how bad is the condition).

this is my opinion.. im driving preve 2014 with turbo badge. i suggest to get any with year 2014 onwards are fine. at least turbo variant come with newer gearbox like suprima VT3+ (blue tag).. really a lot quieter than previous version.

I m planning to get a new car - Preve Turbo variant to be exact. I have a question as the sales personal offer me 2 option:
a) Manufacturing year 2016 with RM6000 dicount + 5 years maintenance OR
b) Manufacturing year 2017 with RM 2000 discount + 5 years maintenace.

Which is a better choice?

maintenance normally in voucher form which cover engine oil (mineral oil type), oil filter, air filter & labours.. around rm170 each.. but can further ask with your SA.. for me i dont mind to choose older year.. since car is depreciating item..  but it depend on u..
persona also a not bad car in my opinion.. just the design are depending.. however no difference to me.. i knew from year 2015 end onwards, turbo variant come with newer HU, blaukpunkt if not mistaken.. better version than older one.. u can update the map personally.. also can install rear reverse camera with third party.. (need appropriate socket only)

not really.. experienced tyres shop can help us do balancing and alignment.. some people having steering off center problem (senget 1 side) even after alignment is good.. ask those workers go adjust steering tie rod of control arm.

just have to tighten/loose the tie rod for both side.. my familliar shop workers always help me to do that.. wheel the steering all the way to 1 side, and tighten it.. do for both side and done.. this will not affect alignment/toe angle
it isnt metal sound? or like what? if metal hitting sounds, probably have to fold down the rear seat and SLAM it back to locked position.

how come it wont locked? weird.. sometimes rear seat may not back to position correctly, so the steel hitting steel..

but ya.. probably go back to sc and they can help to figure out and fix for it.. else, u have to troubleshoot by your own..

1. removed all items at rear boot.. see still got sounds or not..
2. fold all rear seats down.. see still got sounds or not..

keep doing things and drive daily.. this is how i practice and find out the root cause.

Guys I just want to know what is the possibilities of upgrading my 2012 preve 1.6 Mt. I mean all the possibilities from exhaust mod to turbo/supercharger or anything. Because I've been trying to search online but it seems like nothing is coming up. Thank youuu

The replacement of timing belt on the Preve Turbo is at 100,000 km mileage? Just sent my car for service last week and was asked whether I wanted to change the timing belt on the car since the mileage is already 81,000 km. The service adviser mentioned that the timing belt is recommended to be replaced at about 100,000 km so I told her that I'll replace it during the next service, where the mileage should be close to 9,000 km. Was told that the cost of replacement of the timing belt + regular service would cost around RM1,500 to 1,600. Looks like the major service can hit quite a high figure. The costliest service which I previously paid for is RM1,400+ for the 60,000 km service.

i wrote to proton about the starter thingy recall that i have not been called yet and my car is 1st batch 2012. They are funny that they reply please check with service centre. I was like, hello, if this is a recall program, they should call the user and said there is a recall, instead of asking customer to check at their service centre themselves. This is so stupid and unacceptable that i said i gonna expose it.
