some new technology of indoor filters has backwash function, but locally i would like to find out where this is available, for simple reason don't need to install outdoor. With backwash, it doesn't clog up.

not as i'm aware of indoor filters has backwash function, leave it to experts/sifus rclxms.gif

No backwash function. I install and just leave it there til now, no clogging issue. Zheilwane offered me 1 year warranty against clogging to test it out. Lesson learnt, with our malaysia water quality, we cannot rely on NSF and capacity claimed. My old 3m capacity is rated 2600L but i very sure that i used less than 1000L. That is why i share my experience, hoping other people can be aware of this.

It depend on area, and water quality. My mom house use sand filter, the amway uv filter clog every 6 months, even change to another brand of sand filter is the same. After change to membrane problem solve. My USJ house i change the 3M External after >1 year, 16-18m depending my mood. I change because is > 1year, not because it clog. My indoor 3M didn't clog after 1 year change because is > 1 year too.

u are saying Aquaphor don't need outdoor filter and even yellowish tap water won't clog it's filters?

then it must have a backwash function, yes?

i am looking for indoor filter with backwash function that can handle the Syabas (shitty water), anyone know of any model that can do that please share.
*
Everything filter will eventually clog, is the capacity that maybe higher.

Aquaphor indoor filters do not have backwash function, the reason why it cant tahan because the first filter is a 5 micron carbon block filter (carbon block has high surface area to trap dirt). There are many filters using 0.2 - 0.8 micron as the first filter, if that is the case confirm easily gets clogged without an outdoor filter. Moreover the chances of Aquaphor water filter getting clogged is very slim with their patented technology AQUALEN

AQUALENS provides:

high speed removal of impurities
effective removal of heavy metals from water of any hardness
improved anti-bacterial qualities (due to activated silver)
no "channeling" effect, so no water bypasses the filter (100% filtration)
http://old.aquaphor.com/aqualen

Clogging is not covered under warranty because it is not manufacturing defect, it shows that your water is too dirty. However, if requested we could also give a 1 year warranty against clogging, if clog then you need to get a ceramic pre-filter and we will replace the clogged cartridge for FREE. Upto date, nobody claim it from us, looking at exsakai's water quality and yet the filter is still performing well, i am now even confident that Aquaphor is suitable for areas with very poor water quality.

TO : lowya & xenith
If you are looking for a filter that can handle poor water quality without an outdoor filter, i would suggest Aquaphor Crystal Eco and not RO system. RO filters are even more sensitive and ezier to get clogged. I can provide you with 1 year warranty as well but if it gets clogged, you need to add a ceramic filter. If you do not like to have a ceramic filter, i can suggest you another alternative, PM me if interested.

An Outdoor filter is required to protect our internal house piping, taps and fittings from clogging and prolong the life of the taps cartridge and toilet bowl flushing mechanism.

If 6 months clog once, then yearly maintenance gonna cost more than RM 1k, unless you manually clean the filter to unclog it

Amway filter cannot be clean. That is why changing outdoor filter to membrane are much better option.

You can pull out the cartridge and clean the PP (white area) to unclog it. However, cleaning it like tat does not reset the chip (indicator), could damage the PP and allow contaminants to flow through it. So, most users just change the cartridge instead of cleaning it

He didnt come, may be he is too busy. Actually the intention of me inviting D_Goh is not to prove which is better, i just wanna show Aquaphor is fit to be called premium water quality and affordable (50% cheaper) which he does not agree.I wouldnt dare to say Aquaphor is better but definitely it is fit to be called a good filter as well

My mom house changed to membrane outdoor filter is work far better than the sand filter we had before. I think in Malaysia, is unavoidable to pay tax, toll, and water filter.

Do you have problem where a forumer said earlier there would be no more chlorine after the filter and might cause algae in the water tank?

Nope, I don't have any problem with it. Didn't really do any measurement. Drinking is via Amway others are mainly washing and bath.

NSF Report for Aquaphor:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Conclusion:
- RO water cartridge (Why never mention all this while?)
- Manufacturered in Russia (not UK!!)
- Main HQ is in USA (not UK!!)
- The contaminants mentioned in Aquaphor website is longer, but the test report just TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), which RO filter is examined on.
- Bacteria not in the list....
- Viruses not in the list (how to handle virus without UV?)

UV light is used to kill virus (the outer protein membrane of a virus)
For eSpring, the electricity consume is around ~RM6 per year as the UV only activated when the water flow through.
