I have a POE membrane filter that can filter up to 0.01 micron. Now I have POU 3M DWS2500 which can only filter 0.2 micron, I'm not sure is it redundant. Quite confused if I have installed correctly, anyone can enlighten me ?

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Feb 1 2016, 12:23 PM) You still need POU (point of use) for drinking or cooking purpose. That is why there are 2 terms, POE and POU. I have already installed DWS-2500 as POU but my usage is heavy because of frequent home cooking usages, less than 6 months I already need to change the DWS filter. Now, I'm thinking is it a need for me to install another POU for food preparation and soup/cooking purpose which can last for more capacity such as the Easy Cyst (2000 gallons) or Solo. Please advise experts... |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Feb 2 2016, 01:12 PM) Good news to you. 3M recently introduced a new affordable POU drinking water filter called CTM-01. Available exclusively at Tesco for an introductory price of RM340. Normal selling price is RM399. The package c/w necessary tubing, faucet adaptor for instant counter top installation. ( can be installed undersink too) Can this fit with C-Cyst-FF cartridge? The filter head is silmilar to that of my existing 3M AP Easy Complete, therefore I can use my C-complete cartrige for CTM-01 as well. For those who plan to buy the RM800 3M easy complete starter set, hold your horse, you can save some $$$ with 3M CTM-1 + C-Complete replacement cartridge. CTM-01 is an affordable branded PUO filter option good for second POU, office, student, rented premises, portability. I just bought 2 units for office and second POU purposes. BTW, CTM-01 is tested in accordance with NSF 42/53 standards only, that's why it is cheap. Replacement cartridge is about RM150ish. if You want NSF certified, replace it with NSF certified C-Complete cartridge in your next cartrige replacement. http://solutions.3m.com.my/wps/portal/3M/e...ilter-Products/ [attachmentid=5957336] [attachmentid=5957357] ![]() |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Feb 2 2016, 11:49 PM) Can not. The CTM-1 can't meet your usage volume ? You just use it for washing and cooking food ? What are the recommended cheaper brands for non-NSF certified water filter for food cooking? If cooking, you already disinfect the water already, cyst ff or any filtered water without NSF certified good enough. |

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Feb 5 2016, 12:33 PM) If you just wan a cheaper filter for high capacity not premium water quality then get a ceramic washable filter for less than RM 200 only. If clog just open and clean it. The question is if the water used is for cooking and what I saw from the comments here is cooking will disinfect all the bacterias/virus, then should I still need a POU filter since it is redundant, correct me if I'm wrong. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Feb 5 2016, 08:46 PM) If you POE already 0.1 micron, at least instal a carbon filter for secondary pou to filter the chlorine and other chemical not filtered by your POE. I see... the new CTM-01 seem like a good buy but it is only saying tested accordance to NSF, that means it is not NSF certified?E.g. while rinsing rice, rice will absorb the chlorine immediately if water is not filter by carbon. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Feb 5 2016, 10:52 PM) I see it this way. With 3M brand name and reputation, when they boldly printed the words "tested in accordance to NSF/ANSI 42 & 53 standard" on the CTM cartridge itself, it simply means the cartridge is tested as good as NSF/ANSI 42 & 53 but without the certification. I think I can trust 3M's words (tested) without the certification for cheaper price and for secondary POU usage. Where to buy the Dalton 10" cartridges? If you look at other certified 3M cartridges, they were printed as "NSF standard 42 & 53 tested and certified". Two processes here, the test and the certification. Of course the prices are more expensive. Alternatively, get a standard 10" filter housing ( single or double ), then put in the NSF standard certified Dalton 10" cartridges. Voila...! Now I'm headache because my sink has a narrow space to install a separate faucet for the filtered water. Those water diverter that I've tried before does not last, it will leak in months. Anybody know where can I buy a faucet with smaller in diameter in the base? |

I am being offered a unit of new Amway eSpring for RM2500 including additional faucet and tubes to be installed under sink. Is this price consider a steal?

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Jun 30 2016, 10:31 AM) I doubt anyone can offer the price to you lower than RM3.6k. Probably, the guy selling to you at RM2.5k are in the urge to clearing off his old stock. Make sure you check the warranty starting date. According to the agent, they would have many vouchers that they can offer to offset if lock the order by tonight (to hit their quota target) so that they can enjoy additional bonus or travels.Usually new sets of eSpring are 2 years warranty from the date of purchase. |

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Jun 30 2016, 09:50 PM) no 100% to this, got pros and cons to each filters but end of the day AMWAY + DWS2500 both also produce premium quality tap water FYI, eSpring can also be installed under sink1) DWS2500 less electrical components, less problem. Online comments several customers got problem with AMWAY indicator and electrical components. 2) Espring got UV light, DWS2500 dont have 3) DWS2500 replacement cartridge more expensive than Espring. 4) DWS2500 is for undersink, save space, and looks nice. 5) DWS2500 does not require electricity, no nd standby plugpoint for it. |

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Aug 23 2016, 10:38 AM) cant cure ... however the acid water from the Rubine machine reduce itchiness only. Try Elomet cream.Recently i m using this lotion + lip balm and i find it very good. If hand or leg crack just apply the lip balm, will heal within 1 - 2 days.
