Everytime you apply/renew EP you must go through the medical checkup.

This is so they can spot you HIV/AIDS people and tell you to get lost.

Your record stays in the database and forever blacklisted from Singapore.

They don't want you to have to subsidize your healthcare.

Care to explain why/what condition that you don't need medical checkup ?


If you already got your EP, fast fast apply for PR and then you no need anymore checkup.

EP application/renewal always must take medical checkup.


Good luck, hope the medical staff find your vein easily otherwise poke 3-4 times and blood shoot everywhere and you get bruises.

actually one can actually apply for SG PR online, dont need to be working 1st or watsoever.....dun ask me how or wats the requirements like. U can google it and check it out becoz i just know got such thing, but didnt bothered to check it out further.

My application for SPR has been approved. Where can I go for my medical examination?
The Clinical Examination may be done in Singapore by any registered General Practitioner (GP) and the HIV test performed by the GP MUST be sent to any of the HIV clinical laboratories approved by MOH. GPs may refer to MOH's website at http://www.moh.gov.sg/mohcorp/hcfacilities.aspx?id=7782# for the list of approved HIV clinical laboratories. Applicants who are in their home countries/places of residence may have their Clinical Examination and HIV test done in their home countries/places of residence at any medical clinic licensed to carry out such tests.

if those want to go SG or overseas, just go

u wont get credit if u able to convince 1 person to stay in malaysia.

It is not that everytime when you renew your EP you have to go through medical checkup. If you are a first-timer working in Sg or your existing medical checkup report is more than 2 years since your last application or renewal, then you have to go through a new medical checkup.

Usually applying PR need at least six months working in Sg, as part of the requirements is they need your last six months payslips. I don't know about people not working in Sg but still can apply for PR. I guess those are for dependant PR i.e. you have a Sg citizen or PR to sponsor you.

First time I know can get EP without doing med check. What is the condition?

I'm not so sure how come I don't need also..

maybe perhaps of the death and heatlh insurance from my comp lol

Why not go for a free medical checkup once in a while? Since your company will pay for it No harm done, rite?

Don't you know about privacy and confidential? How would they know someone's medical status in the first place? Please lar... who said results will be sent to the employers, if they are paying for it? If that's really the case, people will go and sue the practitioners for doing such unetiquette practices. Common sense, common sense please...

Pre-employment checkups means your EMPLOYER wants to KNOW your medical results before deciding to hire you or not.

Hahaha... I think you have misinterpreted the whole issue. What we were discussing was that the medical checkup thing is part of the requirements for application of work permit to work in Singapore. It is applied from the MINISTRY OF MANPOWER OF SINGAPORE (MOM) i.e. a government body.

It is not required by your employer in the first place. And your employer has already employed you, subject to the approval of work permit... if not, why do they need to go through the hassle of applying work permit for you? If you are rejected by MOM due to your medical checkup results, it is too bad for you then.

Singapore has even less rights for workers?? Have you even compared to its neighboring country, i.e. Malaysia?

Pre-employment checkups are usually to evaluate if you qualify for the company's health plan insurance. The results are sent not to your prospective employer, but to the insurance company providing coverage to them.

Anyway, it's very simple for you. Simply read whatever they ask you to sign lah.

And do you think one can reject the company's insurance plan ?

When u go for medical checkup, you will pickup ur result urself la for god sake -.-" You can always ask someone who has already been thru the process. 1st year of EP or WP is always given 2 years, then you have to renew it anually which the company will pay for all the expensese -.-"
