Chill there bro, working in SG is not that bad, as long as u dun stay IN singapore, but you'll have to bear with the travelling everyday. As for me, i work 24hrs shift, so i only work 15 days a month, travelling is not that much of issue for me.

Im working with HP as a HD agent. Lubang? 1 word, this job is a stepping stone for you. Better to get a perm job else where as i'm currently attached as a contract base agent via a outsource company. I've ask around and those outsource company is taking more then 50% cut from your pay. So watever u get now is jus half of wat u're suppose to get.
Singapore housing sipe jialat! 400 to 600 for small room. F***!
Yes a room in SG is very very expensive especially in town or West area near public transport etc MRT. My room in Clementi Ave 1 cost me SGD450 for a common room. That was a year back. Now the rent is about 5XX. But if u're working near Woodlands or North side you can opt to stay in JB as travelling shud be tat far. I'm working in West area near Alexandra, it takes me 3 hrs to go and return from work by bus and MRT. If i drive to work it's about 20 mins drive from custom(if no traffic jam). Very costly to drive to work. I only drive to work on weekends, Sat and Sun as VEP(vehicle entry permit) is free. VEP perday is SGD20. If day shift parking is about SGD15, nite shift is about SGD5+-. If i woke up late like after 6.15Pm, then i'll jus sleep back as it's almost impossible to get to work on time. jus drive and bear the pain of hearing ur dollars flying. Normally I'd wake up around 5.30 jus to get to work by bus.

You have to give and take, staying in JB is not that dangerous as always seen in Tv, jus depends on which area u stay and how vigilent are u. U have to take care of urselve. There would be no such problem if u're styaing in SG. U wake up 3am wanna go eat, no money? Jus walk to any atm and take 3K oso nobody kacau u.

I only work 15 days a month so it's more pratical that i stay in JB. I eat sleep and spend RM while i earn SGD. If u're working normal office hour, still recommend u to stay in SG unless u have motorbike to go to work.

biking to work u have to wake up early, and i really mean very very early, u have to reach custom by 5.30 if u dun wan to be in the motorbike rushhour jam. i've tried bike once only and i rather pay more driving into work. VEP for bike perday is SGD4. Toll is free if u're using Causeway. Toll for car is SGD1.20 upon exiting SG.

That should sums up most of the info u need to know.

oo bad that most of the MNC just intend to recruit singaporean or PR..any recommendations?
*
Hmmm... No recommendation. Sorry. But, why dun u get a PR status 1st, then only look for IA jobs?

Hiyer, Gamerz, u should have let me know earlier!!!
*
MNC prefer PR and Singaporean cos they dun have to pay for the bond and visa. The fees for each category is differrent dependin on ur education background. SPM per head is about SGD400-500 per month for Msia, other nationality differs.

PR is not tat easy nowadays unless u have a very high education certification. High pay and reference from employee also plays an important role in the PR application process =)

what wrong wif u??? i say lobang is cos i got job lobang onli.. wat it gotta b a stepping stone to u?? i know u got a good job and not everyone as lucky as u. so if u dun like so keep quiet cos your opinion is not helping.. i jz helping thats all. and btw i oso got my own job.. is jz help look around thats all
*
-.-' you dun have to flame me like that, i'm jus offering my opinion as some1 who has experience woking in SG. Do u think u would stick to ur job till end of days? -.-" There's no need to get angry over my comment 1st job will always be a stepping stone to another better opprortunity. Would u give up a better offer jus to stay loyal to your company? Guess not.. I too have lobang to bring ppl to start their workin life in SG, but wat i said after that is from my perspective. -.-" Be rational when u're trying to give comment k?

edit : I've seen ur updates. no wonder u're so angry -.-" i'm not saying u're robing them of their income, i'm jus saying that outsource company is the 1 earning big bucks off our a$$, dun think my comment has any mistake in it, right?

Your advice would be i need to apply the PR first then only start looking for job?
*
No u need not to apply for PR as you cant apply for PR if u're not sponsored by a PR or SG citizen. Jus apply for a job there and the employer will settle the rest for you =)

Cheers

bro agree with u.. working sg if purely due to money,,, i think is for short term..u have to shift back to malaysia to enjoy your return due to currency diff... if you keep in sg.. i think staying in malaysia might be better compare to sg...as malaysia houses doesn't really cost you million ringgiit... comparing to SG... which cost million SG??( not sure never aware of singapore properties price, my instict tell me it cost more  tongue.gif )
*
My aunt's place in Westwood, Jurong Wests, landed properties, 3 storey Semi-D is about SGD1.5M wihout renovation. Use ur imagination for the real cost of renovation and other stuff =)

Rent a room in SG is a killer. I only half a month now so i'm still renting at JB and travelling to work. If u working office, like i mention earlier, it's better to get a room in SG and make sure it's not more then 20 min travelling time from ur office or it's not worth the hassle and cheap price if the rental.

Why are you guys so ignorant ?

If the company pays for it, don't you think they would know about your status and if it's not good, they will most likely discriminate against you ?

Don't you know your results are sent right to the employer if they're the ones paying for it ?

Don't you people have any sense of privacy at all ?

Why so many asians are such greedy people at the expense of their own dignity, spine and backbone ?
*
When u go for medical checkup, you will pickup ur result urself la for god sake -.-" You can always ask someone who has already been thru the process. 1st year of EP or WP is always given 2 years, then you have to renew it anually which the company will pay for all the expensese -.-"

Dun flame me, i'm jus saying this out of my hunble experience. thumbup.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Yea, I got a friend who applied for PR without going through her employer's approval or so-called certification of employment. What she told me is that  she explained to the ICA officials that her employer required her to fulfill certain terms and conditions (e.g. bond) if she wanna apply for PR. Somehow, she got her PR within 1+ months.
I don't think we, Malaysians, need working visa, unlike UK. Yea, what we need is working permit and usually your employer will help you to apply after  you managed to grab the job.

Nowadays, rental in Singapore is killing our wallet. Luckily, my landlord still rents me at lower rate. HDB 4-room flat, common room, SGD360 per month (for 2 persons), location Choa Chu Kang. Ain't that cheap? tongue.gif
*
360 for 2 person is quite cheap, does it include AC?

Of course, prices of items have been going up... can't be help as its a global phenomenen.. what to do.  but $ for $, I don't see why because if you earn SG$, y ou have better spending power than earning the same amount in Ringit
*
This is very true, compare dollar to ringgit, the prices of electronic stuff here is alot more cheaper. =) Going to get myself a 32" LCD at Courts for $688. Good luck trying to get that in Msia.. =)

If rental is such a big issue you all might wan to consider travelling everyday to and from work. But it's a very tiring process and yes, you'll save more on the long run. Try staying in JB is wat i mean.with a common room price SGD500 you can get a double storey teres here. A room might cos u around RM400-500. travelling to work is about RM7-10. so actually u still save, dun mention that u're coming back to msia for food and entertaiment too. So it really depends on whether u're willing to sacrifice time to save more money. As old chinese saying goes, time is gold =)

Oh paiseh, i forgot to specify that wat i mean by my question was, are they countin the days we're working in Singapore or they start counting from 1 again every year following the calander?

Any bank can do all those, the important thing is to use the same bank as ur company, so that if they pay you by cheque it will be cleared within 1 working day(normaly).
