very boring and regulated like factory even you are at home cause everyone is like that. Pub is ok if you work there and willing to fork out the $$$ and other only entertainment is cinema. that pretty much about s'pore entertaiment. but you can get good ping for online game.

i really really disagree lah about singapore being boring. I worked in a shopping mall in Little India and it was one of the best time in my life. really learnt alot there. i worked in a shopping mall that is used to having malaysians work there, in fact most of the workers there are malaysian, usually SPM holders. The pay is good, they provide food, they even provide some money for rental. But since it's a shopping mall u hav to work for 12 hours or more. But c'mon lah, since u're goin down there to work, u hav to work hard to earn lah, suck it up lah, entertainment is not that important for us anymore lah.

He's right, if your main goal there is to work, by all means make it your priority.
You should be worried about the pay, working conditions, working hours, living expenses, food, accommodation, job prospect etc instead of worrying about what sort of entertainment that you would get there. No offense, Just my two cents. |

It's a hell hole. Hot apartments, concrete everywhere. 7k people to a mile. If you're going there to work. Just work, get your money and come back. Or turn traitor like most of the fellas there and never come back. It's very easy to get PRs over there. They're desperate for people. I've known people working there for 3-6 months and already are PR. LOL Insane I know. |

Singapore rocks Man! But you have to really be smart + hardworking to make it there. There's no excuse for poor performance. It's not malaysia government work quality!

I don't see hell here, in mean sg. I've been here for around 1 month plus for a 2 months project here. I see that sg is a good place to earn especially for malaysian. If your purpose here is just to earn money, then you've found the right place.
Compare Malaysia, sg has lower living standard if you don't have commitments on house and car. With S$50 you can buy more things here compare to RM50 back in malaysia. Yeah, after earn "enough" SGD, come back malaysia and convert those SGD to a bulk money ... dun forget to treat us yam char. |

working life is heaven here! hohoho..the transportation and working environment is good. NO TRAFFIC JAMS and BROKEN LRTSsssss/monorails/ktmssss..
no more lrts tat stop in the middle of no where... sad to say..i miss malaysia soo much, but till they improve the transportation there...... The food is alrite if u know wer to makan its not expensive dollar to dollar.....u will be earning proly the same thing in msia... besides the rental part...everything seemed cheaper and u get to save abit. BUT!! unless u r earning more than SGD2.5k...dun bother coming coz no point after all the expenses, u will be left wif pretty much nothing. my expenses now; sgd450 = room (near town and 5 mins from mrt) sgd60-sgd80 = transport sgd200 = go back kl twice a month(lesser than this actually) sgd500 = makan Total = SGD1230 (dun forget the TAX, and mics stuffs) but basically spend around sgd1500 ....the rest can save. so if u r earning 2500, at least can save around rm2k per month or maybe lesser since shopping here is dem dem good! Hmm...I m working in an IT recruitment and solutions agency as an IT recruiter. So if anybody wanna work in SG, please do send your resume to me at leeling.teo@theoptimum.net. However, we do not hire fresh grads. So once any of you guys have 1year experience and above, feel free to bomb my email with your resumes. Please do write in details about the projects you are involved in, it will help a lot in securing an interview. Most of our clients are big MNCs like Merril Lynch, Citibank, Standard Chartered, Accenture, IBM, HP, Barclays, Credit Suisse, etc.....I have no idea about racist problem...I have no prob as my company is multiracial...Indians, Pilipinos, Chinese from China, Malaysia, Singapore....the only Singaporean Chinese working in my company is very nice and frenly....humble too... But basically most of these MNCs are multiracial, will not have problems. Software engineer? Hmmm wat field? It depends on your specialization and experience.... SAP, Peoplesoft, SAS, Datawarehousing, Business Objects, Informatica, C++, DBA specialist can demand much much more than asp, .net. java......but a java person can demand more than asp, .net, vb.... In short, it depends whether u are in demand or not....if everybody is doing the same thing, they will not pay much as they can find their own people to do the job. |
