Hi lcsum, sugar fruits @ fructose is NOT equivalent with the normal sugar. It's natural & are easily assimilated & digested by our body. Are you aware that even diabetics are also encouraged to take fruits? (according to my nutritionist)

Protein source? Healthy ones would be organic sprirulina (it's also being consumed by body builders) Can learn more at http://ezymeal.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=70

he's pointing that no use take sugars for added calories, yes you want some calories, but protein will be better(building materials)

This post is directed at bodybuilding enthusiasts:-

How serious are some of you guys about packing on weight? I know there're quite a few bodybuilding enthusiasts around here. I've checked out some of your journals. Almost all of you are not eating enough. And if you think you're getting in enough calories, you need to make sure calories come from good sources.
And an occasional cheat meal is needed, we're all creatures of habit, the body would adapt to eating strict 365 days a year.
Some of you guys who bodybuild, quite a few of your meals do NOT contain any protein, period. Maybe miniscule amounts from carb sources but that is grossly insufficient.
In order to prevent amino acid levels causing protein synthesis to become refractory you need to do bigger protein doses spread further apart. You can spread carb meals to maybe even thrice a day but you can't just have 3 quality protein meals a day if you want to pack on serious muscle.
I'm getting in 250-300 grams of protein a day. Go figure. And a minimal amount of that is from supplementation. Why do you think i can still maintain 17 inch arms even after losing almost 30 pounds of bodyfat? The key word is protein. Oh... and i consume a lot of fat (fish oil, natural peanut butter, flax seed, nuts) If you're thinking bak kut teh or roast pork, nope, i mean good fat. (This isn't keto to make things clear, personally i think keto diets are crap. Take a look at bb.com forums, most of the successful bodybuilders do not do keto).

Carb sources : oats, weetbix, even high GI carbs have a place to play in building quality mass. Nutrient timing is so important and underrated among many beginner trainees. Do some research.

thanks Bata for explaining... biggrin.gif
well you are still my senior when it comes to gain weight issue sweat.gif

Hi Ezymeal, I have nothing to against on fruits but tis tread is on how to gain weight
which means we're talking about adding more calories to your daily diet...
herbivore people will have a hard time to gain muscle compare to carnivore people laugh.gif
fruits do play an important role in our meal but in term of calories, protein & carb plays a major roles...

darklight can share example of your daily schedule high in protein meal ....it can be a guidance for some here laugh.gif

No wonder you soooo thin tongue.gif

Anyway, at your age, you still can gain weight as what others said, consume more proteins.
I'm trying also. icon_idea.gif
