What is your experience after change to the private IP? I noticed mine much slower compare to public IP. Youtube thumbnail take few seconds to load on TV, extremely slow download on my PS5, and intermittent Internet for the past 2 days.

I wasn't sure is it cause by the private IP, or coincidence.  sad.gif

Definitely worse service level with private IP range... even connectivity become not so stable.

So far mine is still OK, I didn’t really experience any obvious slowness. I am not at that house now, will try again next week.

I believe can call customer service to check the contract period. Also, try to check the process for termination, as before this Maxis will send someone to collect the modem. But in actual situation, some had reported that nobody ever come to collect the modem after termination

Basically private IP is double NAT, which will be slow compare to public IP.

For routing between double NAT, I'm not sure how the double NAT routing work.

Just imagine if this is your intranet, you are putting a NAT router behind NAT router behind NAT router (repeat as many times you like) between your end device and the Internet.

Of course, each routing layer will incur additional ms.
Add-on more ms for the NAT funtion to do de/translation.

Just called Maxis CS and enquire about termination of Maxis Home Fibre.
1. Call their CS at 1800 82 1123
2. They can terminate on the spot
3. No need to return any equipment

Yeah, websites inaccessible, intermittent timeout. This is so frustrating. They want to charge subscriber for public IP, and their private IP not working good. bruce.gif

And then the IPv6 break my pihole adblock....
