just ask them on customer support and give a reason, they will change some stuff and then you can change your PPPoE ID on router for public IP

Note that 4G Backup and VOIP Phone wont work on other routers.

Just say you need it for your cctv..no question ask, they will change it

1 and 2 nope, seems fine though someone mentioned youtube problems just above this
3, my tmall genie (chinese ai assitant) sometimes hicks up a bit and also leading into 4, it's internal speedtest is only getting 2 to 12Mbps depending on it's mood
china sites, the big ones like taobao no problems, but a forum I visit (mydigit.cn) is rather painfully slow, but other than that it's alright (mi.com, bilibili, baidu tieba)
5. no comment but my tech did mess up my router config so it's pushing wrong config over (incorrect PPPoE password), disabled remote, later then replaced with own router.
outside of that support has been okay
also note that if you replace router with your own you do loose 4G backup and VoIP phone. (for 4g, can change hostname of router/device to a specific name to reuse[ircc something Archer_c5v], as for voip you will have to chain the stock router to your new router to use that)
as other's have mentioned if you are subscribed to Maxis on Unifi infra and if the fibre side of things have problem it will be slower to resolve since maxis has to contact tm.

Also regarding 3, Maxis by default puts you on private ip (so no port forwarding), can ask cs to move you to public ip, no charges

also also, if you're using Maxis on Unifi infra, expect to only see 28Mbps on a 30Mbps subscription (and 280 on a 300 sub)
Blame TM, not Maxis. There's some throttling by Unifi applied on the modem for an unfair advantage

I'm using maxis on maxis own infra, so I get 38Mbps on 30Mbps subscription

I'm 2 weeks in, previously an Unifi user for a year full of problems
i) For me no problem whatsoever, even 4k is also silky smooth, unlike previously Unifi often f*ked up their routing to ipv6 and causes long buffer on videos
ii) Non at all
iii) Public Ip is easy to get, just a call and no questions asked. Just be aware that after getting public IP your Pppoe credentials will be changed
iv) Way better than Unifi, Taobao loads properly now. The pics under reviews finally loads, unlike T*.
v) This one tho...for me their CS is better than Unifi, they know about technical stuff. Basically, it took me 2 minutes of call time to get public IP.

Unifi seems to be rather problematic for the users in the southern region.
I've seen youtube buffering, FB, and Twitter images won't load during the night and of course, Taobao simply being unusable.

Yes, my house is not covered according to their website. You'll need to contact Maxis/agent to check for coverage. I didn't notice Maxis is available here until I saw a wifi name popped up as Maxis fiber when cycling down the street. They told me if the area has unifi, you can get Maxis Celcom Digi and Astro no problem.

1. Free 6 month (coming from unifi). Dunno 24m or 36m contract.

3. 129 * 24m

All for 300Mbps. Currently paying 139 for unifi 300.

I thought RM129 Unifi 300Mbps is only available for Unifi customer who has finished contract , not for new customer or existing customer on contract.

If the contact number is under yours, u should receive confirmation call from maxis 1 - 2 days before the installation.

And
For Asus router, u can change it after the technician left.

yap, the login ID will change from userid@home.maxis.com.my to userid@public.maxis.com.my. They will assist you on the phone

Actually, they will just change it on your router with TR-069 I think. Was helping a friend to request public IP and it was done over at their side without any user intervension.

If you use your own third party router, then they don't guarantee that they'll be able to configure it remotely without your intervention.

Their public IP PPPoE user name and password format is pretty simple
If you are a private IP user
1234567@home.maxis.com.my
pwd: 12345671 (same as PPPoE username but always added a 1 in the end)

when changed to public IP
1234567@public.maxis.com.my
pwd: 12345671 (same as PPPoE username but always added a 1 in the end)

When I request for public ip, they accidentally missed typed a 1 when setting it up remotely. Had to modify it myself.

My condolences to your loss. It was a pleasant experience for the installation. It took not more than 30 minutes to complete my migration for landed property.

If you are newly join MAXIS FIBER, need to wait TM & Maxis Technical to come your house separately,
TM technical inspect & wiring your house to the closest FIBER connection, and install+setup ONU required 30min - 1 hour
Maxis technical just install and setup Provided maxis fiber free router, I believe was the huawei wifi 6 router, within 30min will be complete.

Don't forget to request your maxis fiber PPPoE Account & Password for further router upgrade use.

When the technician come and install, cannot request to straight setup using our router? Went ahead to sub to the plan, now waiting for technicians to come. Roughly around 10-14 days right?

This is what I did.

1. Changed to my pwn router right after they did the installation.
2. Wait account update in their system.
3. Call them to request public IP.
4. Change the username from home to public after few hours.

Voila.
