Jump if public IP is a must for your usage. But I won't be surprise if one day TM stop offerring public IP to 300mbps plan and above.

It's just a matter of time. TM already stop offerring public IP for 100mbps and below.

"security" and preventing ingress traffic is bollocks.

IPv6 addressing is direct access to specific device whaaatt....

(no, i don't have access to my Maxis fibre network at the moment to double-confirm if Maxis supports IPv6.)

IPv6 is supported on Maxis for a while already.

Does anyone know what is TM's policy on public IP? I can't seem to find it easily.

Question on Maxis fibre, if IPv4 on private, does IPv6 follow private or still public?

I'm not IPv6-savvy, but what I understand, each IPv6 address is unique for each device, thoughout the planet.
If not for firewall rules blocking traffic, I can access your device through its IPv6 address.

Unifi - 300mbps with Public IP = RM159
Maxis - 300mbps RM149 + Public IP RM10 = RM159

Well there are still some differences like combo with mobile plan
Or peering/load/stability

To go with 1 over the other

And I thought TM has plans to eventually convert everyone to private IP?

Been using them for more than 5 years without any contract renewal.
Another question, anyone noticed that now Maxis Fibre has silently throttle "upload speeds" to European/US servers?

Everytime I do a speedtest with a VPN to Europe/US, my 30Mbps will max out 90% somewhere like 28Mbps but upload speed only 2Mbps. Anyone can confirm?

This is not good.

Weird thing is if using SG VPN, the upload speed returns to symmetrical 30M just as what you subscribed.

Call Maxis hotline to opt out.

I thought so. When more and more people are on 300mbps eventually they will also have public IP limitation.

Could it be their peering?

Oh, did not know Unifi price was higher than Maxis. Better stay with Maxis then... even though I hate that they basically forced me to pay rm 10 extra now.

What is RM10 more per month these days? Can't even buy you a decent restaurant meal.

I've been using Maxis Fibre for more than 5 years no plans to touch or upgrade. Contract looong over and had my public IP account activated during 1st year of use.

But I noticed degradation to their service lately. Overseas connection slowing down especially to Europe/USA, latency increasing even to local servers and peering partners they started to peer with TMNet and Tata which is not as good as the GTT and Level 3 partners they had last time.
