thanks, went to CIMB today, tellers are told not to allow new account opening...... sigh.... said if after open new account and cant get any unit, officer will scold cos difficult to reverse/delete account..? Anybody managed to open new account at any bank? i plan to try MBB tomorrow.

Well u should consider going to ASNB to try your luck opening new account.. Banks normally give so much excuses not to open one for customers

Fact is there were so many units of ASM and AS1m available just now. Finished all my cash in hand, still got some more! sigh....they just dont want to open new account...i said RM100 sure can get, they are just not willing..

your only hope now is ASNB branch.. if not need to try when dividend day then

Talk to the branch manager, take down the name of the officer and teller, threaten them to complain to ASNB, and their HQ for the reluctance to open account.

ASM/AS1M n ASW not their KPI i think. doubt manager would bother. keep pushing for ASN3, ASG... only

MBB is now my better bet since the "troubled instruction affected the CIMB. can only try 1 attempt la blah ..

And the unfrenly staff has become more frenly. did 10 transactions for me today!

ASM still can use old book? How do u know the staff did 10 transactions? Normally I just pass the 3 books to the counter staff n told them to try all 1 by 1 to d max amount I am carrying.

I think old book meaning existing account (it is new format os book for ASM). 10 transaction means tried 10 attempts to successful topup and print 10 lines on the book.

Went to ASNB this afternoon.

Wanted to open ASX for my daughter and could not as I brought only the photocopy of her BC. Need the original. The last few times when I tried at PM & ASNB, they did not say they need the original BC, just that no units were available then.

For those wanting to open new account for their kids, bring along the original BC.

Lost count how many times I have tried to open the account for my daughter now!!!!!!
