Taken from ASNB's latest posting on their FB page ( https://www.facebook.com/413717745430066/ph...pe=1&permPage=1 ). I've heard rumors that SC may not allow for ASNB funds to grow anymore via dividend (I guess they finally realized the loophole) so future income distribution (to use the correct term tongue.gif) will be paid via cash.

Don't know how true the rumor but for as long as ASNB's fixed priced funds continue to represent a large chunk of the entire local stock market, it poses a systemic risk to the local bourse which is why I guess the rumors continue to spread.

Discontinue of re-investment for all Fixed price Funds?

Hi,

I have some amount of funds in AS1M (Amanah Saham 1 Malaysia).

This morning, I saw in a newspaper that 1MDB (1 Malaysia Development Berhad) is going to liquadate/dissolve. My concern is that are there any connection between ASIM and IMDB?

If they are connected, I would like to  sell my AS1M's funds as it has some risks to hold that fund.

I am very much appreciated if some experts here can clear out my doubt on this. notworthy.gif

Thank you very much.

Dun worry as there is NO connection

Hi,
What do you mean by 'governed by Trustee'?
What is the role of AmanahRaya Trustees Berhad in this fund?
Isn't this fund is managed by Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad, manager of AS1M?
Is this fund a guarantee fund. i.e. the fund that the value of the fund remain @ RM 1.00 even if PNB/Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad/AmanahRaya Trustees Berhad go bankrupt/liquidate?

Thank you
*
AS1M is managed by ASNB
Trustee ensure ASNB act as per Deed, Guidelines n relevant laws
Fund is not guarantee by ASNB or PNB
ASNB just maintain buy n sell @ RM1.00/unit

Wah, you are a walking encyclopedia on ASX!

So they can afford to pay additional 2% this time (if they wish to).

Assume ASM earn 5% tis yr, they can declare up to 7% tis yr

True, when it comes to unit trust there's so many guidelines by so many different bodies. SC, BNM, etc2...

In fact ASNB seems to buck the norm by disclosing their top 20 holdings in each annual report when most of their peers only declare top 5.

I'd be worried if money were invested in the likes of EPF, Khazanah, KWAP, LTH and the likes who do not disclose anything/everything because they're not under direct purview of the regulators.
*
In fact, all Funds must disclose all their investments.
Selected fixed price Funds namely ASB, ASW & AS1M managed to obtain SC approval to disclose top 20 investments ony
