QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 23 2015, 08:50 AM) [attachmentid=4348904] First and foremost, is this fund open for public? Or only for its members?Let us move to LTAT for the 2-3 times higher return! 15% for 2014! Dapat kah? Guess not. AA LTAT investment gurus are some of the best in the world with such consistent high returns over the last 42 years! True kah? These guys will be filthy rich if they worked in the private companies! Just curious, any one here knows what do they invest in? Shares, special deals with the you-know-who, etc? BB My gut feel says some hidden fat hands in there to achieve the high returns. I guess that is one way to please the armed forces and to secure their unquestioned services. Same thing in armed forces in other countries? CC Suppose I started with RM100,000 in LTAT 42 years ago, by now it will be about RM9 million now! 90 times increase! Sorry for this off topic thread. Cheerio. |

QUOTE(hyelbaine @ Feb 23 2015, 08:36 AM) Taken from ASNB's latest posting on their FB page ( https://www.facebook.com/413717745430066/ph...pe=1&permPage=1 ). I've heard rumors that SC may not allow for ASNB funds to grow anymore via dividend (I guess they finally realized the loophole) so future income distribution (to use the correct term It is a wise move if expansion of fund is disallowed due to the dividend declaration. So that the investors won't have the feel "Ponzi scheme" as highlighted by few forumers earlier. Don't know how true the rumor but for as long as ASNB's fixed priced funds continue to represent a large chunk of the entire local stock market, it poses a systemic risk to the local bourse which is why I guess the rumors continue to spread. So if this happen, ASNB can only raise fund by launching new funds but not via the increase fund size due to dividend |

QUOTE(hyelbaine @ Mar 10 2015, 09:42 AM) If ASNB could give 7 cents per unit would be quite an achievement to be honest. When the fund was launched back in April 2014, KLCI was at 1847++ points while we're no where near that today. It would take the fund manager some clever buying/selling during that period (highest 1890++ while lowest 1673++) to garner 7%. ASNB investment strategy is keeping the shares for long term, their strategy is more relying on dividend incomes. The short term price fluctuations in their invested shares doesn't bother their performance much, as the invested counters are not actively traded, so Bursa index carries less meaningful to them.ASNB always press their heavily invested counters for good dividend, like Sime Darby, Maybank. |

something missing in the announcement.
Their standard script is " ASB2 actually can distribute xxx %, but due to the obvious reason, we only distribute x% and carry forward the y% to the subsequent financial year......." |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 1 2015, 08:10 AM) Speaking my mind here. Typical case of selling on rumours and buying on facts. It seems friends in this forum are the calm AS1M type vs the nervous AS1M holders elsewhere who are selling their AS1M like there is no tomorrow. Or there are some AS1M sellers here who prefer not to mention it? If there are some, please share your view here. Do they know something which we do not? Knowing something and speculating something are 2 different things. Whether the AS1M run away sale is due to 1MDB or not, hope AS1M will continue to grow and reward its holders. Ha ha. Cheerio. |
