I'm thinking of canceling my Platinum card, just to reapply for another HSBC card 6 months later with Ringgitplus signup offer

but before officially cancelling, is there any ways of getting any retention cashback offer from HSBC?

15k points can change what. just want to know the rebate %

HSBC Visa Signature with 15k max earned pts per month is equivalent to RM42.86 worth if you redeem Shopee RM100 voucher below.
It's what I feel the most worthy redemption.

That redemption rate is shocking… was hoping for a better redemption rate at least for enrich/ KF

I understand the value proposition of this card is supposed to be instant redemption and having more redemption partners, but hard to see how this card is going to survive after the 300k bonus points sign up bonus ends

update on this:

initiated card cancellation via HSBC app live chat, and asked for retention offer. But CS ignored that request and just proceeded to suspend the card while also saying a HSBC CS officer will call me the next few days to confirm my decision

HSBC CS officer called the next day and offered 2 retention offer: either cash advance or balance transfer at lower %. I just straight up rejected this offer and proceeded to confirm my cancellation

T1 card has annual fees of RM300, and waived if spent 20k per annum.

But will I get charged RM300 on activation? Or is it waived for first year?

I see on iMoney, the service tax is monthly charge, is that true?

Since HSBC website didn't have any info about the annual fees and service tax

monthly charge service tax? What is this? Does it sound logic to you?

imoney got some details wrong. even the annual fee imoney said waived with rm2k spending and 12x swipe. which is wrong for t1 card

Imoney is still a 3rd party website. Not a great one at that.

Always refer official website or download relevant documents. Usually PDS should have.

Its a hassle to have to call them every year to waive the fees. Why not just make it free for life...I would sign up for a T1 if this was the offer on the table.

LOL biggrin.gif

The only thing remotely attractive about this T1 card to me is the hotel partnership now... and even then the conversion rate is still horrible.

I asked my RM about this card, and they said sign up, get the bonus, redeem, cancel biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Will definitely stick to the Premier Travel despite the T1 card looking much nicer (and that was the initial reason I was interested in the card).
