QUOTE(ixole @ Mar 25 2015, 11:02 PM) Hi All, regarding salary payment in singapore, - If you work 183 days or more in a calendar year you are a tax resident and pay the same progressive tax rates as locals. - If you work less than 183 days you are not a tax resident and pay flat 15% tax or progressive tax rates as locals (whichever is higher). However the following year if your employment spills over into exceeding 183 days you can request IRAS to re-assess you as a tax resident and refund you the difference in tax paid. If i just started to work in singapore, for example 3k SGD. 1. is there any other deductions foresee? levy fee or tax (annual or monthly?) 2. if i start to work in may 2015, so in 2015 years i will be a tax resident and pay progressive tax rate? anyone can help with my questions? thanks This post has been edited by ixole: Mar 30 2015, 03:32 PM

^ if it indeed is following your logic nobody wants to work in Singapore liao. I'd say it's according to the market rate for your job/sector and experience.

QUOTE(kron_ka @ Mar 31 2015, 11:54 AM) In the accountancy line? I also heard is it true, if a malaysian guy earn MYR 10k, he apply job to spore, they will hire him at 25% X MYR 10k/2.65 ? They will translate from our MYR salary? So RM10k becomes SGD943? Haha...

( pay annually or monthly?)

( pay annually or monthly?) SG company don't deduct your tax from your pay and pay it on your behalf. You pay your tax next year. SG fill personal income tax around March to April, payment around June/July. Tax can be done in monthly installments. If you are not tax residents, the company may hold your income tax contribution for you, need to ask those who work here before getting PR.
