QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Mar 25 2015, 07:29 AM) DHL and FeDex. I think DHL do home pickup also. I googled and found that it says if u courier stuff from Sg to Msia, your items will get held up at customs for one month at least. Is this true? If gonna be held up, might as well take bus to Johor and use poslaju.

QUOTE(outpace @ Mar 25 2015, 08:42 AM) you mean after we got our SG license, no need to renew the Malaysian license. Thanks bro for your clearing of doubts. Looks like I will just renew MY license for one year, convert into SG license, worry nothing as long as I hold SG license. Mack Boss, do I need to renew my MY license in future, after I get myself a SG license in next month? sounds like I don't need to pay more to renew for 5 years, so I will just renew my MY license for 1 year and convert into SG license, so I don't need to pay for more years. Thanks all for assistance, correct me if I'm wrong. by law, you are not suppose to have 2 license. when you convert your license, your MY license will be blacklisted. And there is no advantage of holding both license. I involve in accident before in KL using my SG license. No issue with Insurance claim as well. The only benefit is when you kena road block in Malaysia, if you show them SG license, be prepare to pay kopi in SGD. thats all.

Getting Started

|
Hi All,
regarding salary payment in singapore,
- If you work 183 days or more in a calendar year you are a tax resident and pay the same progressive tax rates as locals. - If you work less than 183 days you are not a tax resident and pay flat 15% tax or progressive tax rates as locals (whichever is higher). However the following year if your employment spills over into exceeding 183 days you can request IRAS to re-assess you as a tax resident and refund you the difference in tax paid.
If i just started to work in singapore, for example 3k SGD.
1. is there any other deductions foresee? levy fee or tax (annual or monthly?) 2. if i start to work in may 2015, so in 2015 years i will be a tax resident and pay progressive tax rate?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(deodorant @ Mar 25 2015, 08:53 AM) outpace I mean that when you take the JPJ license extract for the conversion to SG license, JPJ will cancel your Malaysia license, because JPJ regulations say u can't hold more than one license issued by either Malaysia or Singapore at the same time. There are ways to get around this of course, including bribing a runner at JB, getting your extract at other states (and tell them purpose is for driving overseas), or taking the entire driving test from scratch in SG. OK thanks, what I want to know is, whether to renew my license for 1 year or 5 years, before I convert it into SG license in near future. Looks like I need to renew one year only, since no longer Malaysia license is valid (being suspended when I get my SG license). No intention to have two licenses. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Mar 25 2015, 10:54 PM) by law, you are not suppose to have 2 license. when you convert your license, your MY license will be blacklisted. This topic has been discussed many times in earlier posts, guys please don't whack me. Lester brought this up. BTW, does SG license expires for Pass Holder (non-PR)?
