QUOTE(Azran1979 @ May 14 2024, 01:18 AM) is there a difference betweek sucking oil from dipstick tube and draining from the drain plug ? which one is better? Base on personal over 1000 time++ oil change experience If engine is hot if oil cap ada bukak Drain plug is faster , the con probably if someone overtightened the drain plug well either changing oil pan or changing drain nut, welding the oil nut etc i guess? Suction the tube is tiny take some time too delicate too tedious movings the tank, plug in the compress air tube, no physical muscle use for opening nut, no need go underneath is needed, so far i never heard the suction tube is putus and stuck at dipstick or oil pan, good for beginners i guess? Also probably is the only choice for drain plug is permanent welded without want to changing oil pan. Unless engine full of sludge drain plugs or suction don't help reduce residue either This post has been edited by zuozi: May 18 2024, 01:23 PM |

so i think its best to just use the vacuum machine.
those drain plug always lose its thread after many2 years. number 1 cause of engine oil leaking. just hope the pomen dont keep quiet if the tube somehow putus inside. |

Draining from drain plug is always better. As you are ascertain that all the old oil are drained out.Suction needs to move the tube around and will not extract all the oil out. |

It will occur if the mechanic over tighten the bolt which it tends to happen. |

Recently i saw many vidoes with workshop using flushing machines where they use machine to flow in and out eo. Just like engine flush method but with help of pump machine.. This method should be bestSuction needs to move the tube around and will not extract all the oil out. Theres also another where they drain old eo, then use pump to push out residual oil that wont flow out naturally, easily half a liter more old oil came out |

Just like engine flush method but with help of pump machine.. This method should be best I never actually know how engine flushing work via machine, if you want me to guess Probably via oil filter housing with all the attachment kind of stuff i guess? And got to use alternative cleaning agent because impossible to use engine oil which is not effective in cold is thick unless the machine can heat up the engine oil and also engine oil is expensive if machine can heat up the cleaning agent also a good for cleaning Theres also another where they drain old eo, then use pump to push out residual oil that wont flow out naturally, easily half a liter more old oil came out I don't think you need frequent machine engine flushing if you do oil change frequently , also i don't think you can overflow the engine without leak during flush. Example Compressor flush via machine in Malaysia minimum already RM 250 and above. |
