So iOS8 was launched by Apple early this morning (Est. 1am) introducing certain new features. Among the major features talked about was:

Personally, I can't help but feel that this iOS launch is the most boring one yet. I mean, everything that we expect to be introduced is introduced.
However, there just weren't any amazing surprises. The WOW factor just isn't there this time.

I think Tim Cook should name this new ios as ios 7.2 is better. Nothing new for me.

Android can do this on standard unrooted rom since ages ago.

I think this year would defenitely be the rise of china branded android phone - xiao mi, hua wei, lenovo etc... Soonest by next year will conquer the android market with the imba price/ performance ratio. For me, iPhone 6, is just another bigger screen apple device since i5 in which samsung and other brand smartphone had had it for years... Getting bored. Just my small little thoughs, btw im a loyal iphone user since 3G.

If you use all Apple hardware , "continuity" feature is quite a good concept . Start a imessage in iphone and continue working on it with ipad or mac, answer a call on a macbook air , but you have to get the whole package for it to work, most people just android phone and ipad air.

How does the health app work?

It is able to pull data from supported health-related apps and consolidate it all into one.
This allows you to view all your health data in one app.
Quite impressive if you're really into health.

I believe the integration is not enabled yet ...the app is there but it doesn't do much. I guess we need other apps to be updated to support IOS 8 first before using the health app.

Actually it is kind of there , idling , waiting for iWatch to drop later this year.

I went into the app thinking it will start aggregating my step count but it didn't. Guess it has to work with other apps eg Nike+ Which are coded with the health app in mind.

Those who plan to upgrade to iOS 8 beta I suggest you hold first unless you have an extra phone to play with. WhatsApp currently doesn't work. Keeps crashing.

No changes or improvements on the control centre? Like turning off your cellular network from there or something. Was expecting them to do some improvements on that actually

You should understand that ios 8 is still beta phase.. Of course not all apps are fully compatible .. Just use the big report to report for bugs

I think, the biggest update for ios8 is we can link directly into Mac platform ☺️

careful when u restore your backup coz is not support with IOS8 to IOS7, i lost my backup when i restore back to iOS 7

Even if iOS 8 is available this second, I'll just stick to iOS 7 for now... You never know how many bugs will be found in the initial release, which will also cause havoc to your iDevice!

Will probably only be more stable and good for use in Beta 4 onwards.

I'm ok using this beta so far. Been using it almost two weeks now. looking forward to beta 2 hopefully on Monday.

I wished iOS8 launched a change to the icons to be like those on Windows Phone platform.

Allow us to change the size of the icons and lets have real LIVE information showing on them. That, would have made iOS8 great.

if Apple adopt that then it would resemble Android too much. Further, no one is complaining about the icons now (i think). Further, don't forget, WP's scrolling is downwards/upwards whereas iOS is left/right.

don't think Apple will ever take that radical change to the orientation.
