QUOTE(vexus @ Oct 24 2014, 08:35 AM) Ios 8.1 is the worst update ever. Damn lagging in iphone 5. Screen become not sensitive or over Senstive. i think this common problem on 5 or below.. since the update mostly focus on iphone 6 and also 5s with almost same spec.. for still using 5..standby money..then grab 6

iPhone 5S on iOS 8.1 is great! No more error logs, it's noticeably smoother, battery life becomes better, overall is great just like previous 7.1.

Good morning guys, I have a problem when updating my Iphone 5 to IOS 8.1. I try to update it yesterday, everything was smooth until the screen where it asked me to connect it to itune using cable. So I did as it said but when I plug to my pc, the itune stated that my iphone was in recovery mode and need to be restore (it also indicate it would be factory reset which mean all my stuff in iphone will be gone). Unfortunately, I didn't backup before I begin the update. Is there anything I can do to bypass since I can't just switch off my phone (power button broken) and on back? Any advice is highly appreciated.

Well, try to unplug your phone from pc and restart your pc, and plug it back. See whether that's work or otherwise. If it still cannot, then no choice have to do factory setting which means set as a new phone. Then it'll give you an option to recover back the last backup that you did previously.

It seems that I have no other choice but to do factory reset and kills my data and photos. Thanks for the advice anyway.

Yes, it'll clear all your data and photos but if you have your previous backup, you can at least recover from it. And try to see whether there's any backup from iCloud.

currently using google+ app to auto backup camera roll.
i noticed that google+ app starts off by taking up about 60mb of storage space. but after a week or two, it goes up to 560mb.
any idea why this is happening? is there anyway to clear cache or reduce the size of the app content?

If I'm not mistaken, you can kick out from recovery from an app (windows and mac) but I can't remember what was it called

Guys I found a bug : Rearranging albums in the photos app will crash Photos, throwing you out from the apps.
Try this and see for yourself. Let me know if this is the same for you

QUOTE(steve1703 @ Oct 27 2014, 11:30 AM) anyone using iphone 6 16gb? wanted to know how much space(GB) left after updated to ios 8.1. i6 user but can't answer your question. But will definitely not recommend 16GB as it's insufficient. Even if you don't have many songs, taking a lot of photos will easily eat up the internal memory. Even if you don't take many pictures, your Facebook and Instagram app will eventually take up a somewhat significant amount of cache space. My storage details: Photos & Camera --- 2.3GB Music --- 2.0GB Facebook --- 284MB WeChat --- 203MB Vine --- 184MB Instagram --- 130MB Whatsapp --- 100MB Currently left with about 2GB.
