After 5 days of using iOS 8 on my iPad mini retina (& just a day on my 5s laugh.gif), ive decided to switch back to iOS 7.1.2. The difference is huge man. At first i thought iOS 8 is fast enough on my iPad but sadly no. iOS 7.1.2 is much2 faster and snappier and not to mention much more stable than iOS 8. To me iOS 8 needs a lot of work to be done, the experience is really bad, with so many minor but noticeable bugs. (wifi, touch sensitivity, keyboard auto jump, photo upload, compatability, etc..) i hope in next update Apple will fix all of that stuff. Till then, will stick with iOS 7.1.2. nod.gif

the compatibility issue should be blame on app developer, iOS 8 is announce few month ago, yet some developer unable to release update for this major changes...

i also notice some app having strange behavior with iOS 8, but what to do, is up to the app developer to decide when to release, they know apple going to release iOS 8 yet they not well prepare
*
I didnt blame apps, apps is just compatibility problem. But other stuff that i mention is purely Apple's fault. Its like they rushed iOS 8. I mean there's no major difference from iOS 7, and this is what we get? Im kinda disappointed. But then again i hope next update will at least fix everything that i just said. Oh, forgot to mention the Safari apps experience in iOS 8 is also bad. Example "Open in New Tab" function is really annoying in iOS 8. Luckily they still sign in 7.1.2. Else im stuck with the unfinished iOS 8. shakehead.gif i hope Apple is still signing 7.1.2 when they release iOS 8.0.1 just in case its bad as well. laugh.gif

regarding the safari open in new tab you mentioned.

you can change the settings for it to be open in background so that u wouldn't have to switch between tabs every time u open a new tab~

Cheers~ =)
*
I know that. Thats not the problem. The problem is it took a while for it to actually load the "Open in New Tab" and after click, the webpage will become black then white its like its reload whenever you open a new tab. U can see the difference from iOS 7 where the transition is seamless. nod.gif

Thanks, the only reason I am planning to revert is that I plan to get the 6+ and pass the 5s to the wife, and it is better for her to have one that is snappy and fast. iOS 8 in 5s is not bad. It's quite fast too.. but iOS 7 would be snappier!

Exactly! You're welcome. thumbup.gif

iPhone 5S on iOS 8.1 is great! No more error logs, it's noticeably smoother, battery life becomes better, overall is great just like previous 7.1. nod.gif

Yesterday my iPhone 6 got "auto" update to iOS 8.2. I initially download the iOS 8.2 myself but haven't decided when to install it. But suddenly it automatically update itself without prompt. I was a lil bit frustrated when that happen. But then i find out iOS 8.2 turns out to be even better. More smooth, battery life is superb now, whatsapp-ing uses less battery, etc. Good job Apple. rclxms.gif

^ Probably the first screenshot I've ever seen that didn't have WhatsApp at the top of the usage chart.  laugh.gif

Haha because i rarely used my iPad now since i got the 6. The bigger screen really helps a lot on browsing the web. Unlike before this on the 5s. Thus resulting me spending more time on safari. U know, foruming and all. brows.gif

No way its a bug bro, im seeing 5 hrs of usage currently still on 50% on my iPhone 6! Before this 50% surely 2 and half hours only. iOS 8.2 battery life is superb! thumbup.gif

Lol all the battery talks going on.
Come on. U can't really compare how powerful your battery is depending on how long it lasts.
I can do basic browsing, whatsapp, wechat, fb and other social media shit and get thru a whole day with battery still remaining at the end.
I can also kill my battery by gaming on asphalt for about 2-3 hours. Or go from 100 to 0 in 1.5 hours by playing the Sims City game.
Point is, it's all about usage habits. If you stress your usage on certain apps, battery life will definitely take a hit.
iOS versions barely changes shit to battery life. It's your usage habits and app updates that affects the battery life. I've been using the iPhone since the first one and never had I once thought "oh cool, battery life has been prolonged over the software update". If u need more power just get a power bank. Or be a wall hugger. Or get an android. iPhones were never known for good battery lives.
Ok bye.
*
That's why the battery talk is ongoing. Its about your own usage/preference on day to day usage. As of me, my pattern is almost the same everyday, and that is why i feel there is an improvement on iOS 8.2. I can squeeze in 2 to 3 hours more on 8.2 with the same pattern usage on the 8.1.2. So it is indeed a better update. thumbup.gif

btw how bout u? notice any difference in your battery life yet?
