REALLY? My friends must be the odd one out!  cool2.gif

Why you need to bother about this? Different user had different needs on their phones. iPhone is not the best smartphone ( unlike what those Apple P Schiller says) in the world nor is there any best Android phone
Both platform has its own pros and cons
Important is if you feel iPhone meet your needs better , stay with it. Some will find Android better suited for them ( I am a very good example) and I have used all the iphone since first model till iP5. I just "hate" it when Apple fans deem themselves to be smarter because they chose iPhone - if they think so, just let them be. Important is I don't feel dumb as I have given Apple their chances too with me
With the bigger iP6, Apple now wants to pull back those lot of Android fans that are happy with bigger size phones and I believe this strategy of them might work ; how successful it will be only time will tell
Either way personally I couldn't be bother whether Apple or Google will be the winner in this game. Most important I can find a phone that meet my needs and it could be the coming ip6+ ??
I have given up on Blackberry and Windows Phone and basically only left iPhone or Androids. In high probability I will be using both of them - best of both worlds.

Good luck to your friends then. Do tell us their thoughts of using Android after a while...
My friends did the same thing, but most of friends regret for such decision and switch back to iOS (waiting for iPhone 6) and some continue on Android phones and they are with neutral feedback, because they're not having "fever" on phones.

My opinion is, finally we have CHOICE on phablets. Most of the "not-so-tech-savvy" people jump into Android phones is because of the screen size, and most of them haven't experience iOS and Apple product. Certainly I think their eyes will go blinking after they experience the Apple products...
*
Sorry my eyes go to sleep on my iphones. Hope the ip6+ will make me blink
Come on different user different needs. Not all will find ip suitable for them. I have also tested most of ipad range but all never stay in my hands more than 2 months as they cannot meet my needs

Trying to fix some of the existing issues in iOS 8, Apple on Wednesday released a fast iOS 8.0.1 update that came with some unexpected surprises: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who have installed it have quickly discovered their devices would no longer connect to their carrier of choice, and that the Touch ID sensor wasn’t functioning anymore. Since then, Apple has pulled the iOS 8.0.1 update, publishing a special support page on its website, which reveals that the company is looking to release iOS 8.0.2 in the coming days to fix the new issues.

iOS 8.02 on my iPhone 6+ needs much improvement :

- very slight laggy moving even among homescreens
- Appstore search function most of the time doesn't boot up immediately
- Apple keyboard hung 3 times on me ( first day of usage). Thereafter this hung still persists few more times but time hung was considerably much shorter
- downloading of attachments in Mail app is way too slow vs Android and time saving these attachments is even very much worse than any Android phone

One of the positive aspect of my ip6+ on ios8.02 is its excellent battery life. So even with no improvement on this with 8.1 it is fine with me

Is it must update to iOS 8 in order to sync with my Mac and iPad? hmm.gif hmm.gif
*
Not necessary unless you had updated Mac to Yosemite some default Mac app eg pages, iPhoto, numbers etc you might be unable to sync its data only. I saw error message some iPhoto's cannot sync due to this. Updated my iMac to Yosemite yesterday n problem solved

Anyone jumping straight into the 8.1 update when it is available @2am on Tuesday?
*
I will definitely. I always update all my phones to latest firmware once is available. I do not wait for any user feedback as my personal assessment is always the best. Most web reviewers doesn't has same sort of app and usage type that I had . So personal assessment is more appropriate. Other user assessment just read for info only

4G and LTE. Which one is better? I never had LTE option. Only 4G. Saw some screenshots on apple forum their setting are different than mine.
*
Both are same here . If you see 4g means you are on LTE network.
Updated my ip6+ this morning to ios8.1 and don't seem to see any obvious changes yet. One problematic app AstroToGo still unable to run. The very slight lag in UI transition is gone now. It is now very much smoother vs 8.02.

Is the Toggle button so important? Maybe yes last time with the Iphone 4  as we toggle to 2g to save on battery usage. But nowadays, after so long with Maxis LTE, I will even hesitate to surf on 3G networks because its so slow.
*
Right. Given a choice I will always choose highest download speed possible. So with LTE enabled is good enough

I am using ip6+ and on 8.02, Apple keyboard freezes 3 X in one day. Than I switch over to Swiftkey as alternative. Only one time the phone hung without any response while launching whatsapp
Had updated to 8.1 and must say quite happy with it - didn't have any sudden freezing/ or crashes noted yet
Only issue was I couldn't sent out majority of my SMS. I nailed it down to bulk of my 8000+ was probably due to a previous mass import over from my LG G Pro2 phone. Resetting even network still same problem. Maxis changed the simcard for me and also same issue. Thereafter I fully reset the phone and restore back all my stuffs from my backup. And I deleted all the SMS and reimport it back and viola , now SMS problem solved !
