Are we still able to get the RM26 waiver for telephone line rental if we subscribe to VIP5?
*
yes, some one here recommend owner of Unifi go nearest TMPoint ask for waive.

now my house have old fixed line rental (RM1 per month after waive, if not mistaken)
and unifi phone number as well (this one is free to call TMNet nationwide fixed line number)

i guess so. i don't do speedtest often but what i can say is the connection speed is consistent.
the only problem right now is my Dota 2. might be my router but I do not know how to test it.
*
Wow nice, I never get more 20mbps for local server connection.

Did you try change the channel width to 20MHz (don't use auto or 40MHz).

From what I understand, many Apple devices such as MBP & iPhone/iPad may not work well with the 40MHz channel width.

Try these settings below,

802.11 Mode : 802.11gn
Channel Width : 20 MHz
Channel : 1 ( or 11, or 6*. 6 being the default for most device should be avoided, or try it last)

WPA Mode : WPA2 Only
Cipher Type : AES

Can any of your device connect to other wifi?

Did you enable your DHCP server in your WAP?

Did you enable your MAC filtering?

Did you restart all your devices (ie. router, WAP, MBP, iPad, iPhone, etc.) every time you make any changes?

Did you save your changes?

Can any non Apple device connect to your WAP?

I am new to unifi, just connected last monday (this week)

Today i find some lagging when i watch hypp tv. The lag is so bad that it totally hang. It takes some time before i can hear audio but the video is somehow distorted.

But the internet is working just fine. The speed is good. I called the customer service and they advice me to off the tv box, wait 30 seconds and power it up. They also did some reset and it is good. But few hours later it happen again.

Whats the problem? Is this normal? I am on 5mbps package.

I think something is wrong with your STB... better ask for replacement before warranty runs out.

i also think yr stb is kaput. call them n change it.

my stb was used for a week upon installation, then bundled up in a drawer for 3 yrs. last week, i put it on again, works like a charm but the foc channels r still crap. so, back in the drawer. decent channels, u pay very month... dun like, just like astro.

better spend rm300-400 one time on an androidtv box to get a lot lot more since u r already paying for unifi, a good stable broadband. use it to the full!

I was the one that got the 5mb RM139 offer after I refused their 10mb RM179 upgrade. You can try calling them to ask for the offer. smile.gif

Oh I see.
I was given 1800888763 to call when I asked for this package after unsubscribing to Platinum pack.
I will "threaten" them to give me the package by saying one of their competitors' agent agreed to pay my termination fees.

My VIP5 installation went smoothly yesterday.

Two TM Unifi installers came to my house at the appointed time.

They drilled a small hole to let in the optical fibre pulled from the telephone pole near the back of my house.

They didn't install an FTB outside my house but installed a small fibre wall socket (FWS).

Four Unifi equipment were supplied.

A Huawei EchoLife HG8240w BTU, an Innacomm RG4332 wireless router, a Huawei EC6106V5 STB and a Motorola C401A DECT phone.

The STB requires a different login ID xxxx@iptv and password from the normal Unifi login ID xxxx@unifi.

The wireless signal from the RG4332 is weak, so I configured my existing Streamyx wireless router, a DLink DIR-605L, as an access point
to have a better wireless coverage around the whole house.

The RG4332 performed quite OK as a router only, after offloading wifi duties to the DIR-605L.

The main problem is that it cannot host a Minecraft server as its port-forwarding/virtual server capability seems to be not working.

I will probably replace the RG4332 with an ASUS RT-N12HP or something better.

The whole setup is stable so far; no wireless dropouts or internet disconnections.

I will continue monitoring for 2 more days before I proceed to terminate my Streamyx 4Mbps.

mine's a landed property but it doesn't matter if you live in a highrise or not as all they need to do is to just change the billing amount, everything else is the same.

the main criteria, I think, is:-

1. you're a good paymaster;
2. your 24 mths contract has ended;
3. you don't want their VIP10 @ RM179; and possibly,
4. the threat from abnxcess which is currently very active in my area! brows.gif

thanks for the feedback. i will try to call them back later and ask for replacement. it happens intermittently and after i turn it off and wait 30 second (as instructed by the TM call centre) it goes back to normal.

Did anyone get a call from TM sales team for upgrading Unifi from 5 -> 10 for RM169 or 10 -> 20 for RM219? I got a call last month but was busy, and this month they call me again and said the offer no more, only RM229 for 10 -> 20. My contract baru habis.

Can anyone confirm if the offer already finish this month?

TQ!

All sifu here can advise me the detail of this 2 model, I am thinking of upgrade my existing Unifi router.

Asus RT-N56U
TP-Link WDR4300

- My preference is want to have longer range WIFI coverage
- Router location at 2nd floor (I stay at 2 storey house), hope can get full house coverage.
- Using Unifi 5MB package.
