1. you have to sign a 24 mth contract.
2. they won't give you new equipment. if your current equipment is not working, you have to buy a new one. unifi won't replace for free!

I got a call from unifi to upgrade my 5mb to 10mb @ rm179. This was my 3rd or 4th time receiving such calls but I refused to upgrade.

So they offered me rm139 p.m. instead of rm149 for the 5mb package. However have to sign a 24 mth contract.

1. No new equipment, & if the current equipment KO, then it's my responsibilty, not theirs!

2. Free transfer should I move to another location - can save rm300.

3. RM139 will remain after the contract lapses.

Anyone got this offer?

that unifi fella says the modem is only guaranteed for 12 mths, not lifetime.

why i didn't i take the rm179 offer?

1. they said they called me for the rm169 offer but i didn't answer their call! for the life of me, i didn't received the rm169 call! so as a sign of protest, I didn't take up the rm179 offer!

2. i'm happy with the 5mb speed.

According to unifi = https://www.tm.com.my/Home/broadband/unifi/...ation-Unit.aspx , only the BTU has a lifetime warranty - BTU is also known as modem ( https://www.google.com.my/search?q=Set+%E2%...spx%3B300%3B300 ) which is freely used by unifi's CS - that's where the confusion started...

how to define "SELECTED"? you tell me...

the CS also mentioned that the 169 is no more - it's 179 now, & soon will be 189! I don't believe this at all!

did they offer you rm139 for the 5mbit package?

i think there's no shortcut. you'll have to get vip5, pay your bills on time & hope they'll call you...

Good to know that they're offering rm179 nowadays.

After almost 3 yrs, they decided to call me to upgrade to vip10 @ rm179 but i refused, so they offered me rm139 for vip5 which I took up - 2 yrs deal BUT no new equipment.

they claimed that they called me for the rm169 vip10 offer but i know i didn't rec'd such calls! thereafter they called me about 3-4 times to offer me RM179 but i refused it all, so they offered me RM139 for vip5.

for me vip5 is fast enough, for now...

edit - call them up & say that they're not playing fair by not giving you the RM179 vip10 deal! tell them to give you the same deal or you'll form a group comprising the RM199 vip10 subscribers to lobby for the RM179 deal!

i did a similar thing to a bank and rec'd what i wanted!

I was the one that got the 5mb RM139 offer after I refused their 10mb RM179 upgrade. You can try calling them to ask for the offer.

mine's a landed property but it doesn't matter if you live in a highrise or not as all they need to do is to just change the billing amount, everything else is the same.

the main criteria, I think, is:-

1. you're a good paymaster;
2. your 24 mths contract has ended;
3. you don't want their VIP10 @ RM179; and possibly,
4. the threat from abnxcess which is currently very active in my area!
