Wondering is there any way to uncap unifi now?
Heard can still double the speed if we use a switch/router?
*
You heard wrong.

There is no such thing as uncapping Unifi to double the speed without paying TM for it.

Paid RM400 to the installer today because he said I had to pay RM450 to TM because I had to install it on the 1st Floor of my house, so he could do it for cheaper. Did I get ripped off or is this normal?
*
This is like day-light robbery, why don't you check with TM? Installation of 2-HP aircon on 1stFloor with piping only rm250 and this FTB(1kg) needs rm400? Might as well install the FTB on ground floor and use Powerline-Ethernet to connect up to 1stFloor and cost only rm100+.

I don't think cancelling is necessary as your streamyx contract should be long expired..

Just tell them you are upgrading and the agent will sort everything out..

FYI the streamyx phone number cannot be kept unless you pay a monthly fee for it..
(because VOIP and other swag stuff)

It is best to verify yourself afterwards.

Last time, I was streamyx user that change to Unifi, and in the application form clearly already ticked cancel the old streamyx account once Unifi installed (considered migrate), but after a month later, found out the streamyx account still not yet cancelled.

Highlighted the issue to the customer service later, only then the account being properly closed. No charge on the old streamyx incurred though.

Since you're capable of paying for UniFi VIP 20, you shouldn't have any problem paying for an ASUS RT-AC68U.
Or at least an ASUS RT-N18U.

Asus RT-AC66U Wireless Router, is this okay? Plus it is compatible with the UniFi services such as the HyppTV? Do I need to inform the UniFi people that I'm changing to a new router?

RT-AC66U is fully compatible with UniFi. HyppTV will also work perfectly on that router.
However, to me it's not really worth it as the price differences between AC66U & AC68U is only RM50 but with huge performance gap.

Guys,

I'm on VIP 10 for 2 yrs already. Paid RM199. Now I wanna downgrade to VIP 5. I called and customer service told me RM200 downgrade fee will be applicable or if I don't want to pay that RM200 downgrade fee, I will need to sign another 2 yrs contract at VIP 5 price. I feel damn cheated by TM. I feel like terminating and jump ship to Maxis.
*
you can always apply a new VIP5 then cancel the VIP10
