it happens everyday, youtube is getting throttled about 9-11pm daily...
But for me, I can still watch Twitch streams on "High" or "Source" setting no problemo... But i sure hope that there are some agents here which can provide some feedback... QUOTE(christina1 @ Jun 8 2014, 11:02 AM) Actually if i have no background apps running, i can stream most youtube 1080p just nice on my 5bmps line...So tbh 10mbps is already more than enough for a 1080p youtube stream, unless the line is being shared between few people then yes 20mbps will be decent for few people to stream 1080p simultaneously. QUOTE(kazekage_09 @ Jun 7 2014, 09:15 AM) for fiber cable i think not much i can do right because it already installed when my house constructed. or maybe if they can do it will cost greatly. homeplug, but if your home uses a three phase power supply, the homeplug only works in the electric sockets that are in the same phase...so i think my option only to lengthen the cable from the point at my left wall to my right wall. or i heard there is a device which can transmit the data through electricity? meaning i plug one end at my left wall and the exit at my right wall and then connect to the modem. so no visible cable at the wall. is such device exist lol |

QUOTE(Pewufod @ Jun 11 2014, 05:09 PM) anyone know of a good modem/router to replace both the tm given modem/router ? What do you mean by modem + router?im looking for a one for all solution where a single product can replace both the modem + router You wont be able to change the Fiber Termination Unit, you can only change the provided router which has crappy wifi... the lists of replacements can be found here http://www.klseet.com/index.php/replacement-option-summary credits to them... |

QUOTE(Pewufod @ Jun 12 2014, 09:51 PM) thank you for the reply Normally the connection via LAN cable is quite stable, normally the problesm with TM routers are wi-fi stability issues, actually my issue with the router is that i cant really play games with it and im using LAN do you think changing router would improve the situation ? thanks But if you can confirm that the lag comes with the router, then changing it will solve the problem, but if the problems comes from TM side, then changing the router wont do much good.... If LAN games that doesn't require internet connection, then yes router will definitely improve performance.. |

Just asking, do they provide us with the unifi login password during installation? or we have to call TM to get the unifi password?

QUOTE(spotlifter @ Aug 21 2014, 10:14 PM) Yes me and one of my friend has issues accessing mail.live.commay i know if you are using automatic DNS or some other DNS? I tried connecting via VPN and Maxis Mobile Internet (via USB tethering) and they both worked, so it must be unifi issue Only another friend who using using Maxis Fibre did not get affected. QUOTE(neato4u @ Dec 30 2014, 01:37 AM) Guys, can someone please shed some light here.. If you are sure that there's nothing wrong on your side, then only TM can fix your problem..I'm using VIP5 for 2 years. No issues. But lately when it's night time (10pm onwards) the internet is super slow... It's like on dial up speed. Opening webpages is slow.. even whatsapp loading images is slow.. I am in total control over the network at my place, so no it's not been hacked (can't see any other unknown connection from router status) and not WIFI issues (even plugged a LAN directly). Tested on different computers and phones as well all the same. Come morning speed is back to normal... Can someone suggest anything other than contacting TMnut.. Have you tried using a VPN? I think there was one time where webpages fail to load 4 out of 5 times but with VPN its fine... (using free VPN so of course cant get max unifi 5Mbps, cant ask for anything more) |

I also suspect is some kind of throttling...
do try using a VPN and see if that helps... (why not if it can at least load the page) I'm sure most of us are using GoogleDNS too, so if its a DNS issue most of us will be affected |

QUOTE(norman05051984 @ Jan 7 2015, 09:52 PM) read on 1st thread. it says that for existing streamyx account, i need to cancel my subscription first? I don't think cancelling is necessary as your streamyx contract should be long expired..i just call helpline, they said that they will auto migrate. no need cancellation from my end? which one is correct? Just tell them you are upgrading and the agent will sort everything out.. FYI the streamyx phone number cannot be kept unless you pay a monthly fee for it.. (because VOIP and other swag stuff) |
