QUOTE(razo2 @ Sep 24 2014, 01:14 PM) I have called MOMTS may mark down for other to reference MOM say reject an approved EP will not affected future application Applicant need to ask employer to withdraw the application. If the employer disagree to withdraw the application, write a formal letter to employer for withdraw application, if still failed, bring the letter to MOM seeking for officer help. But always the best is nego with the employer to withdraw the application. |

Just a suggestion, maybe can put all information into word document and upload for others to download? If were to update frequently, put the last updated date.Something like FAQ also can. E.g. there a lot people asking the transport fee back and forth from JB to SG. This post has been edited by almeizer: Sep 26 2014, 09:25 AM |

For this year he will be taxed at Non-Res rates but sometime next year once he hits 183 (or 1 year? not too sure exact dates here) he can apply to IRAS to re-assess his this year tax and they will re-calculate it as a resident. |

If not later like my car, cannot jalan and force to be scrapped it |

Can elaborate more? I started in Sept... How will I be taxed and when? I totally have no idea about it.Btw... I read on this: http://www.iras.gov.sg/irashome/page.aspx?id=9878 QUOTE Income tax is payable on income earned in the year before. You should report your full income earned in Singapore in your tax return. If you are liable to pay Income tax, IRAS will send you a letter inviting you to e-File your tax return. Example If you commenced employment in Singapore on 3 May 2013, you will be required to complete the tax return for the Year of Assessment 2014 by 15 Apr 2014, with employment income for the period 3 May 2013 to 31 December 2013. Can enlighten me on this? |

U still get taxed as non resident at flat rate of 15% of your income on that year. If you continue to work on the following year, then you will be taxed under resident tax. However, deodorant added that you can request to re-assess your previous year tax based on resident tax, but I'm not sure this part. The income tax same with Malaysia where have resident tax and non resident tax, just that you are Malaysian working in Malaysia, so you do not know about non resident tax. If you have any rental for your property and you did not stay in Malaysia more than 183 days, your rental will be taxed as non resident which at 26% (can't remember the exact percent, more or less) flat rate without any tax relief.QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Sep 26 2014, 09:03 PM) Can elaborate more? So your tax will be based on non resident which will be flat rate of 15%.Btw... I read on this: http://www.iras.gov.sg/irashome/page.aspx?id=9878 Can enlighten me on this? No worry about declaring tax that you've earned from the company, because your company will submit your income tax via auto inclusion scheme (if more than 12 people in the company), or manual via IR8A form (if company did not opt for auto inclusion scheme). You just need to e-File others source of income such as rental or if you have tax relief that wanted to add in (e.g. life insurance, study fee, etc). Other than that, pretty straight forward and easy compare to Malaysia where you need to submit yourself online. |

After some googling... Maybe will get deducted at first, then next year when tax is filed, it will be credited in the account as some form of advanced tax payment. I read from one website... Like someone who worked less than 60 days yet get taxed 15% this year, get the taxed amount credited back when filing for tax next year. Not sure QUOTE If you are in Singapore for at least 183 days in a year This post has been edited by IwanAGP: Sep 26 2014, 10:33 PMExample: You have stayed or worked in Singapore from 01 Apr 2013 to 03 Oct 2013 (186 days). You will be taxed as a resident for the Year of Assessment 2014. Year of Assessment Period of Stay (Inclusive of Work) in Singapore Resident Status 2014 01 Apr 2013 to 03 Oct 2013 (186 days) Resident If you are in Singapore for at least 183 days straddling two years Under the two-year administrative concession, you will be regarded as a tax resident for the two years if you stay or work in Singapore for a continuous period of at least 183 days. This concession applies to foreign employees (excludes directors of a company, public entertainers or professionals) who have entered Singapore from 01 Jan 2007. Example: You have stayed or worked in Singapore from 03 Nov 2012 to 07 May 2013 (186 days). You will be taxed as a resident for Years of Assessment 2013 and 2014. Year of Assessment Period of Stay (Inclusive of Work) in Singapore Resident Status 2013 03 Nov 2012 to 31 Dec 2012 (59 days) Resident 2014 01 Jan 2013 to 07 May 2013 (127 days) Resident Total: 186 days If you are in Singapore for three consecutive years Under the three-year administrative concession, if you stay or work in Singapore continuously for three consecutive years, you will be regarded as a tax resident for all the three years even though the number of days you are in Singapore is less than 183 days in the first and third year. Example: You have stayed or worked in Singapore from 03 Nov 2011 to 07 May 2013. You will be taxed as a resident for Years of Assessment 2012 to 2014. Year of Assessment Period of Stay (Inclusive of Work) in Singapore Resident Status 2012 03 Nov 2011 to 31 Dec 2011 (59 days) Resident 2013 01 Jan 2012 to 31 Dec 2012 (366 days) Resident 2014 01 Jan 2013 to 07 May 2013 (127 days) Resident |

Don't worry about the tax as long as you continue to work in Sg. For my experience the tax bill didn't come in the second year when my first year was less than 183days. Only on the third year I received the assessment notice for both first year (<183days) and second year (365days) and everything taxed as per resident rate. In fact my first year tax was so low because the income just surpassed $20k little bit due to only few months salary. The non resident tax only applied to people who leave Sg before 183days and IRAS will order HR to withhold the last month salary in order to clear the tax balance.

Means when you first started your work already more than 3.3k. I believe it should be less than 6 months so should be 3.5, 4 or even 5k. Omg awesome pay |
