Hi all, I'm headache right now, hope experts here can help me to solve this.
3 months ago, I get a job offer from Singapore(2nd time work in sg, 1st time was about 10 years ago, after that study in kl and working for 8 years)
So I take up the offer(small company, just 4 ppl include boss) and resign(my boss say apply for EP sure no problem) every week I ask my employer what is the status.
At the 3rd weeks, my employer told me the EP rejected(as what he say is bcos the mom drop his email) and he going to do appealing.
So I keep on waiting for the status and every day my employer told me the status is pending(from EP online I only see rejected)
Until last 2 weeks another company come to me for interview, as I also don't know when the result coming out or it will totally no result, I go for the interview.
This morning, the 2nd company offer me
This afternoon, the 1st company told me the EP approved
I don't know what to do, 2nd company offer better and better future, I thinking to taking up the 2nd offer, but the EP is already approve, I don't know whether can reject or not, and will the reject affect the future EP application.

Pls help me

Probably try to seek advice from MOM? I think they'll be willing to answer you biggrin.gif Just call and ask without revealing your ID, see whether such cases happen before and what can be done.

Because you can't ask either company. If you tell the first company, later they cause you to be blacklisted. If go ask second company, later they give you up don't want to help you to solve the problem. So better ask professional advice from MOM itself biggrin.gif

Most important question is have you signed that employment contract for the 1st company? If you did you need to serve the notice period as agreed on contract.
Breaking a contract agreement comes with penalty, like pay for cost incurred for processing the EP and HR.

If didnt, just move on to MOM. Ask them what to do and sign your 2nd offer that you are interested in.

Hi, thanks first. notworthy.gif
I haven't sign any thing(employment contract/offer letter) with the 1st company.

Then you are safe ,mate. Proceed to call MOM. Congrats btw.

I have called MOM
TS may mark down for other to reference

MOM say reject an approved EP will not affected future application
Applicant need to ask employer to withdraw the application.
If the employer disagree to withdraw the application, write a formal letter to employer for withdraw application, if still failed, bring the letter to MOM seeking for officer help.

But always the best is nego with the employer to withdraw the application.

Sean,
What do you think of work performance and ethics over university ranking where one graduated from ? Thanks.
*
just my point of view

y company look at ur university first?
1. the company don't know u, how they know ur work performance, ethics and experiences(everything inside resume can be fake)
2. from the university degree/master at least they know u have something

experience + graduate + professional cert > experience + graduate > experience + professional cert

that y ur parents always telling + funding u to study hard to get a degree/master

graduate is not a must but it always better than non-graduate

thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif . The only people that won't scam you in this world are your parents, ask you study good is only want you to have a better life.

Just slot in my view, an admin officer in a small local bank here, small pawn compare to the big bosses here.

It very much depend on whether the interviewer buy your story or not. You have to sync with his/her frequency and resonate with them. Different company different criteria different demand, see my coffee post previous page. However, most of the people in MNC picked up similar books so basically yeap, good degree speaks louder. Ethics and work performance hmm, you are assuming those with good degree don't have those? Just good in study in school yes? Mug some pass year papers, book smart can do already.

Niway, good luck  thumbup.gif .

FYI,

Starting from sept, any EP jobs need to publish in sg gov website for 2 weeks first only employer can hiring foreigner

Most of the company will interview first then publish in sg gov website after that only apply for EP

so u will need to wait for 2 weeks+ for EP

info from my comp

1st august already in effect lah. https://www.emigra.com/emigra-immigration-n...-1-august-2014/ although it remains to be seen how effective this is in controlling influx of FT's - will MOM really enforce this properly or will companies just end up wayang and giving this lip service is anyone's guess.

extract = rm10
btt = abt SGD11
conversion = sgd50

if i am not mistaken, that is abt the cost u need

do note that for the extract, jpj officer needs to sign
"computer generated, no signature required" is considered bs now and they will ask u to go take the extract again.
