Yes!

gotten my Maybank2card Platinum today (upgrade from Gold).
QUOTE
15-Apr-2014 (Tue) - Went to Maybankard Centre, The Gardens (after 7pm)
18-Apr-2014 (Fri) - Platinum cards listed in M2U (unactivated)
23-Apr-2014 (Wed) - Received Platinum cards via PosLaju.

All in all, 6 working day (excluding 15-Apr since it was already after 7pm).

Something different from the package/cards:
QUOTE
1) Maybank branding for both cards (instead of the old Maybankard).
2) Multicolor TREATS logo behind the cards.
3) No change to expiry month/year.
4) Fifteen (15) complimentary vouchers either in cash value or items.

Called-in to activate the cards, took around 5-mins to get the card activated, ready for use, and reflected in M2U.

One peculiar thing: There is no need to cancel the Gold cards. That means I'm carrying 4 cards (2 sets of m2cards). hmm.gif
QUOTE
Questions:

1) Does that mean I am now having 2 separate cashback pool? [Update from MBB: Only 1 cashback pool]

2) Will I get another GST charged to Platinum? [Update from MBB: Yes, I'll be charged RM50 GST in 3 months timeĀ  shocking.gif No waive possible cuz it's being charged per card basis. Options to "waive" is canceling the Platinum cards or offset via TP redemption.]

3) If I start swiping with Platinum Amex, this won't impact my Gold's cashback quota/utilization so far this month? [Update from MBB: Only 1 cashback pool]

4) Canceling Gold cards, what will happen to my current outstanding and TPs? [Update from MBB: All current outstanding from Gold will be transferred to Platinum in 7-days time; into Platinum Visa only. Even if outstanding from Gold Amex, it will still be transferred to Platinum Visa regardless. **update after gotten my 1st bill after upgrade: Gold Amex outstanding was transferred to Platinum Amex.**]

p/s: Best customer service ever for calling the new hotline number. Direct to customer service agent. thumbup.gif

Hi guys,
Today just received notice that my application for MBB 2cards rejected.
Call the branch officer that in charge and he said that my monthly commitment is high and also he said that if I apply again it also will be rejected.
- Currently I have 3 CC with no outstanding balance.
- Loan (House + car (MBB) + ASB(MBB) = 3.5k monthly) all with good record
- Monthly income 6.2k
Anybody know how can I get it approved. I plan to canceled 1 of my current CC and apply this card to utilized the 5% CB and the 5x TP.
Thanks

how much is your current monthly commitment? i guess ur commitment is approaching 80% of total commitment/net income x100%.
Or another possibility is 3 of your current CC is getting too high credit limit. For eg, you are eligible for 50k credit limit, but 3 of your CC total credit limit >50k, then they will reject you. <-- i heard this from 1 of my fren SCB banker fren.

Total of the 3 CC CL for around 35k and my monthly CC spending around 2k... I believe that CC spending + loan commitment causing my application been rejected.
And ASB loan is the culprit since I just started to service the 200k loan...

1) you should have upgraded to platinum right before your next gold gst charge, then cancel your gold and use your gold tp to redeem for your new platinum gst after transferring the tp over. so you won't be incurring additional gst for the new platinum 2 cards. you upgrade now for what purpose? golf or insurance? if not, why upgrade now?
2) yes, since you are now a mbb platinum card holder, you get to call the toll free number with direct customer service to handle your questions/requests. thumbup.gif

lol all these while, i had the assumption that since it was an upgrade and i've already paid for the Gold, i wont incur additional gst for the Platinum (or possibly to waive later). sweat.gif

upgrade (for us) is technically a new sign-up (for bank), hence gst will be imposed.

also, chances of me dropping by maybankard centre is rare, so just happen i was at The Gardens, so i thought might as well upgrade it laugh.gif

Mind to share what's the voucher is? I'm calling in to upgrade mine to Plat as well (GST coming soon), my latest credit limit already reflect plat level as I submitted my payslip early this year. But I only proceed to upgrade credit limit after being told the same thing - will charge GST upon activation even though it's an upgrade.

as my understanding, there are no such thing as credit limit reflect plat level unless u talking about your monthly income reflect plat level..
last time i do have a gold card which higher limit than my platinum...

if your income is 60k p.a. , just apply/upgrade to plat smile.gif

I indeed have above 60K pa and submitted my salary slip for update. But I didn't want to pay for GST as I just paid 6 months ago (from the time I submit my updated salary slip). So I only ask for credit limit increase (previously was only RM5K CL given). The CS (I did in Maybankcard centre KLCC) mention if I were to upgrade my card, I don't need to show my salary slip again as the system already captured my salary is above the plat requirement. So I can just call to upgrade without the need to go through any card centre.

- Maybank VISA/MasterCard : 1%
- Maybank American Express with Maybank logo on top : 2.5%

Forex are not accurate also, as the rate are determined by them. But won't run that much.
