Hi all
Just wanna ask for oversea spending, which card have better rebate?
Are the 5% and 5x point apply for oversea too?
Or to use the master card as it have better rate and lower service charge?
Thanks
*
Are the 5% and 5x point apply for oversea too?
-5X, yes, any time
-5%, yes, follow local transaction time, theoretically Saturday 0000 to Sunday 2359.
(mean if transact in US, follow US local time, if at Australia, follow AU time)

Or to use the master card as it have better rate and lower service charge?
-some say amex better if factor in the 5%, some say mc better. so, subjective..

I have gotten this sms too btw how you guys calculate the admin charge and conversion rates for amex card ?
*
QUOTE(maskedchan @ Apr 5 2014, 01:25 AM)
the transaction rate(maybank) - that day forex rate(check BNM website) = admin charge...
*
if AMEX,

transaction amount (in whatever currrency, except MYR) to convert to USD by using AMEX rate at the particular time, then USD to MYR rate in AMEX + 2.5% admin fee

simple say

EUR (or any other) -> USD -> MYR (by using rate from AMEX) + 2.5%

if USD, then USD -> MYR (by using rate from AMEX) + 2.5%
