Are u a car tinter?

Is there any car tinter can verify this FAMOS brand?

The seller told me this haven't even been launched in Germany.

FAMOS S3 Complete.

Hi there, if it's not launched in Germany, then most likely it won't be available in Malaysia.

I just tinted my new Honda Jazz at 3M Ampang. Crystalline 70 for front and back, and Nano 40 for side windows. Total satisfaction for both product quality and workmanship. Price is very reasonable too. Recommended.

I'm not sure but I feel this is not right, haven't launch summore can be found and sold at accessories shop, not at own huper optic company shop.

Too fishy.

Will this make more sense?

:'( what can I do now? He kept saying it is a good tint and even ask me to a sample from
Raytech to compare with FAMOS.

And that FAMOS is good and better in quality.

And it's only 3mil for RM2k!!!! It is not reasonable right???

3mil is not even a security film right?

Then he said even a 20mil the glass will break.

Omfg that's not the point! The point is I'm paying RM2k for a 3mil unknown brand sad.gif((

It's not under HO。
But Smart Window, the dealer who carries the tint. (Another in-house brand tint? )

http://www.smartwindow.com.my/famos.html

The IRR% specs displayed on the website are good enough, the highest grade tint Famos X3, IRR% reaches 98% with 72%VLT. ( surpassing Vkool elite IRR% 94) notworthy.gif

But where's the TSER figure?

The link is not working so can't see anythings.

The thickness is not the main point as there is many cheap way to make it up to 8mil or more. Most important is the IRR and TSER reading. Even they provide you the reading, how real are the reading and how long it will last.

Since you already installed, why not you just try it out and let us know how you feel the sun. If you think it's acceptable level, just use it for a while and change it if necessary.

All the best.

Hi,
Would u advise on the best tint of both safety and solar ( the darkest JPJ passable ) for Honda Jazz?
i am not taking the promo tinted offered by my SA ( V ARMOR )

currently looking at reputable raytech/llumar/3m in kuala lumpur.
if possible with the current market price would be nice.

for 3M in Kuala lumpur...... i recommend you to go 3M ampang.. alongside MRR2, nearby flamengo hotel...
I tinted there before raya... really satisfied with their workmanship, friendly boss.. and so far 3M is the best heat rejection tinted i ever used..

Hi. Yes it has high IRR and UV rejection.

But I can't see TSER as we'll. as what he said he installed S3 for me (which is not available on the website yet as it hasn't even launched in Germany).

TSER is one of the important factor for tint right?

If without TSER, what will happen?

Now I am considering to ask him to tear all tint and install HO for me as promised.

Or should I ask him to add another layer of security tint without additional charges as I feel I am paying a very premium price for a cheap FAMOS TINT.

Do u think it is possible? Thank you sad.gif

Will the TSER for different type of films such as below provide different heat rejection:

Dyed or Colored Films
Sputtered (Metalized) Films
Hybrid Films
Ceramic Films

For example, Lets say all above type having same TSER of 50 (for discussion sake only). Will one type provide a better heat rejection compared to the other?

Thanks in advance.

I would say Sputtered (Metalized) Films. Why?
Because metal always a good conductor compare to others material

Now a day, too many window film brand in market. Basically, 2 things you can must know when choosing the film.

1. Discover the "Brand" that selling USA Original Product. icon_rolleyes.gif
Actually only few brands in market are selling genuine USA product, the rest are not. But how do you know about it.
Tips :
a) The brand that can reveal their USA manufacturer supplier name and website.
b) Brand that recognise by their USA manufacturer too.
c) Original Packaging with brand logo (Many local brand come with blank packaging box)
d) Brand logo stamp on film. (Most USA brand come with logo)
Discover more here : http://raytechfilms.com/customer-info/

2. Make sure you pay for original "Brand" product. icon_rolleyes.gif
Complete Step 1 before Step 2.
Many "Black-heart" dealer carrying USA brand but selling other product to customer to make more profit.
Most of customer do not aware about it.
Tips:
a) You can easily google the original product of the brand on their website.
b) Try to look for the logo on the film before installation.
c) Make sure you visit the authorized shop to get the right product.

Extra Informations :
a) Do not trust too much of the film specification like IRR and TSER. We find many many brand given fake reading.
b) Test the film before and after installation to make sure you get the right tint.
c) Do not trust on non-authorized dealer. Example : Other accessories shop can offer Raytech product. It is impossible. Finally, you getting fake Raytech product with no Raytech logo on the film.

Good Luck.

1) Let me ask you, comparing 50kg of crayon, 50kg of iron, 50kg of crayon+iron and 50kg of sand. Do they have same reading of their weight?

If your answer is YES (they are same weight), please go to No 2. If your answer is NO (they are different weight), please go to No 4.

2) What if 5 years later crayon melted and vaporized, iron oxidized. Will they have the same weight again?

If your answer is YES (they are same weight), please go to No 4. If your answer is NO (they are different weight already), please go to No 3.

3) If TSER given same reading, all heat rejection will be same. Because this is the reading of the heat rejection. Just that we don't know how real is the reading given, how durable and how long the reading can last. Of cause you need to compare the IRR reading, glare reduction, and etc too to determine a good quality solar tint.

If you agree with No 3. Please proceed to No 4.

4) Thanks and good luck to you.

Personally, I will stay away from dyed films and metalised films. The former may be just colour and will fade soon enough and the latter is said to interfere with some transmission for your in-car gadgets.

Anyone heard of this brand FAMOS?

FAMOS is not under Huper Optik brand film bro....
It's totally different brand. Quality and price also lower than Huper Optik hmm.gif

PS: Remember don't add another layer on top of it. It'll break the official warranty.

I noticed that when I wear polarised sun shades, the windscreen of other vehicles turn shades of purple, blue, green and yellow. Is this normal? Because the red spectrum colour has been filtered hence the polarised shades are spanning out the spectrum of light colours except red?
