This is one of the way to check for original 3M product. And we will only wipe it off in front of the customer after our customer satisfied with the installation done.

As for your info, Some shop do charge cheap for remove tint as they are using strong odor chemical to remove it. We are using odorless chemical to remove tint for our customer best comfort in their ride.

Hi Sir, If your 3m scothshield is just applied within a year, then you may add another layer of better heat reject series like 3M crystalline series or 3M nano series.

No issue for warranty claim if you choose back 3M film.

This you need to ask the new branch they willing to do for you or not. Because you appl new layer, the new layer warranty is by the new branch.

87% heat rejected, you mean the TSER or IR?

If TSER, Don't think any solar film that can apply on automotive can achieve 87%

If IR, it just infrared figure. For heat rejection you need to look at the TSER (total solar energy rejected) for more accurate measurement.

For 3m autofilm, the best heat rejection will be crystalline series and nano series.

Top up a little bit more from Rm1.6k you can get the top best series from 3M already. No need to worry fading or loss performance.

I'm not sure but I feel this is not right, haven't launch summore can be found and sold at accessories shop, not at own huper optic company shop.

The thickness is not the main point as there is many cheap way to make it up to 8mil or more. Most important is the IRR and TSER reading. Even they provide you the reading, how real are the reading and how long it will last.

Since you already installed, why not you just try it out and let us know how you feel the sun. If you think it's acceptable level, just use it for a while and change it if necessary.

1) Let me ask you, comparing 50kg of crayon, 50kg of iron, 50kg of crayon+iron and 50kg of sand. Do they have same reading of their weight?

If your answer is YES (they are same weight), please go to No 2. If your answer is NO (they are different weight), please go to No 4.

2) What if 5 years later crayon melted and vaporized, iron oxidized. Will they have the same weight again?

If your answer is YES (they are same weight), please go to No 4. If your answer is NO (they are different weight already), please go to No 3.

3) If TSER given same reading, all heat rejection will be same. Because this is the reading of the heat rejection. Just that we don't know how real is the reading given, how durable and how long the reading can last. Of cause you need to compare the IRR reading, glare reduction, and etc too to determine a good quality solar tint.

If you agree with No 3. Please proceed to No 4.

By looking at spec alone it even better then 3m crystalline 70 (50% TSER) already. But usually with such high TSER reading, it should hardly or minimum feeling anything under the sun with air condition on in the car. Usually will feel comfortable after few min air condition on.

Or maybe your expectation is too high? Did you tried under the same condition with others tint and get better feeling? (maybe you try to have a sit in your friend's car)

Don't think so. Normally a solar film is already at it's stable character stage when the product out from factory. Maybe you can ask the shop for guarantee after installed if you decide to go for it.

Hi, nano series is a solar + security film so it's good to apply on side windows. Both crystalline and nano have same spec reading and the different is only the thickness. But nano series is only available in nano 40 and nano 70, so apply nano 40 will no pass jpj and nano 70 will be too bright for side windows. The darkest allow by jpj is 50 so crystalline 50 is the best heat reject film and compliance with jpj.

If you worry about safety, you can always add the 4mil 3m scotchshield security film (clear type) on top of the crystalline crystalline 50.

It's hard to show the different just by pic alone. The best will be visit showroom and test the tint side by side for comparison. No obligation of cause.

Sometime it will even darker if some original windscreen is not 100% transparent.

Update from TV news
Goverment just annouce start from 1th November rear passenger side and rear windscreen can be tinted with 30% min.

Which mean follow new rule
Front windscreen = 70%
Front side windows = 50%
Rear side windows =30%
Rear windscreen = 30%

70% heat reject with Rm188 is too good to be true which we can say. If you just want cheap security film and treat the heat reject as bonus if have and lasting then maybe you can consider it.

Further more, you should look at the TSER reading instead of Infared reading to measure the real heat reject value.
