QUOTE(Remic @ Aug 10 2014, 07:32 AM) what I understand is, when you install 3M film...there is some kind of small 3M watermark logo on the film, they will wipe it off after installation. You can chk first before they cut the film. This is one of the way to check for original 3M product. And we will only wipe it off in front of the customer after our customer satisfied with the installation done. To be safe it is always better to go for 3M authorized applicator to get your 3M solar film.

QUOTE(kitongti @ Jul 31 2014, 06:10 AM) Thanks Lord Gitsy... But why at normal tinted shop they only charge rm50? big difference... Hi Kitongti, Thanks for support 3M Ampang. As for your info, Some shop do charge cheap for remove tint as they are using strong odor chemical to remove it. We are using odorless chemical to remove tint for our customer best comfort in their ride. Customer satisfaction and comfort is our 3M Ampang top priority.

QUOTE(monocle @ Aug 11 2014, 02:43 PM) I'm using 3m scotchshield and i'm not satisfied with the heat rejection. Advisable for another layer? Hi Sir, If your 3m scothshield is just applied within a year, then you may add another layer of better heat reject series like 3M crystalline series or 3M nano series. No issue for warranty claim if you choose back 3M film.

QUOTE(monocle @ Aug 11 2014, 08:32 PM) I wonder is it poasible to do it at other 3m outlets? Did the scotchshield in Penang, now i'm in Kedah. There's a 3m center newly opened.. is the warranty valid? This you need to ask the new branch they willing to do for you or not. Because you appl new layer, the new layer warranty is by the new branch. If by any chance you do visit kl, feel free to come over 3M Ampang, we will be happy to serve you.

QUOTE(Hunakadoo @ Aug 20 2014, 09:08 PM) hi lord gitsy , how can i test my current Heat Rejected % ? i was told and showed that mine is 87% Heat rejected . @ Solar Tint USJ . so how do i test that? 87% heat rejected, you mean the TSER or IR? If TSER, Don't think any solar film that can apply on automotive can achieve 87% If IR, it just infrared figure. For heat rejection you need to look at the TSER (total solar energy rejected) for more accurate measurement.

QUOTE(McFD2R @ Aug 21 2014, 02:18 PM) Need some advise. Amongst 3M, V-Kool & Llumar .. which tint and grade offers the best TSER & security? I have installed Llumar Diamond 6 for security in my previous ride but the heat rejection isn't that good. I'm looking for a change. Oh, it has to be within the VLT guidelines and for the front, Smart Tag friendly. For 3m autofilm, the best heat rejection will be crystalline series and nano series.

QUOTE(Gabarn @ Aug 21 2014, 12:40 PM) Sit in my colleague's Vios two days ago and find his tint works pretty well against hot sun spell. When asked , I was told his Vios tinted with a tint brand call Windshield / Winshield / Wingshield ( don't know how it spells ) which I never heard before . And price seem pretty reasonable RM 1.6 k against those big brand. Any one use that before ? any sign of fading off 6 months or so ? Top up a little bit more from Rm1.6k you can get the top best series from 3M already. No need to worry fading or loss performance.

QUOTE(peeta @ Aug 23 2014, 02:44 PM) Are u a car tinter? Is there any car tinter can verify this FAMOS brand? The seller told me this haven't even been launched in Germany. FAMOS S3 Complete. I'm not sure but I feel this is not right, haven't launch summore can be found and sold at accessories shop, not at own huper optic company shop. Too fishy.

QUOTE(peeta @ Aug 23 2014, 10:45 PM) http://www.smartwindow.com.my/more.htmlWill this make more sense? :'( what can I do now? He kept saying it is a good tint and even ask me to a sample from Raytech to compare with FAMOS. And that FAMOS is good and better in quality. And it's only 3mil for RM2k!!!! It is not reasonable right??? 3mil is not even a security film right? Then he said even a 20mil the glass will break. Omfg that's not the point! The point is I'm paying RM2k for a 3mil unknown brand (( The link is not working so can't see anythings. The thickness is not the main point as there is many cheap way to make it up to 8mil or more. Most important is the IRR and TSER reading. Even they provide you the reading, how real are the reading and how long it will last. Since you already installed, why not you just try it out and let us know how you feel the sun. If you think it's acceptable level, just use it for a while and change it if necessary. All the best.

QUOTE(vknight @ Aug 24 2014, 11:00 PM) Will the TSERÂ for different type of films such as below provide different heat rejection: Dyed or Colored Films Sputtered (Metalized) Films Hybrid Films Ceramic Films For example, Lets say all above type having same TSER of 50 (for discussion sake only). Will one type provide a better heat rejection compared to the other? Thanks in advance. 1) Let me ask you, comparing 50kg of crayon, 50kg of iron, 50kg of crayon+iron and 50kg of sand. Do they have same reading of their weight? If your answer is YES (they are same weight), please go to No 2. If your answer is NO (they are different weight), please go to No 4. 2) What if 5 years later crayon melted and vaporized, iron oxidized. Will they have the same weight again? If your answer is YES (they are same weight), please go to No 4. If your answer is NO (they are different weight already), please go to No 3. 3) If TSER given same reading, all heat rejection will be same. Because this is the reading of the heat rejection. Just that we don't know how real is the reading given, how durable and how long the reading can last. Of cause you need to compare the IRR reading, glare reduction, and etc too to determine a good quality solar tint.If you agree with No 3. Please proceed to No 4. 4) Thanks and good luck to you. This post has been edited by 3M_Ampang: Aug 25 2014, 03:00 AM

QUOTE(sytians @ Aug 26 2014, 10:27 PM) Just got my front windscreen tinted with raytech ultra 70, as written in the warranty card. But somehow I feel that it is really warm driving under the sun.... What problem could it be? Fake raytech? Or written ultra 70 but actually something else... Or could it be my wrong feeling? Driving in the afternoon with my hand below above dashboard to test the heat, can feel the heat lorrrrrr.... Someone can enlighten me....? Thanks By looking at spec alone it even better then 3m crystalline 70 (50% TSER) already. But usually with such high TSER reading, it should hardly or minimum feeling anything under the sun with air condition on in the car. Usually will feel comfortable after few min air condition on. Or maybe your expectation is too high? Did you tried under the same condition with others tint and get better feeling? (maybe you try to have a sit in your friend's car)

QUOTE(alvin_thor @ Aug 30 2014, 03:16 PM) Hi, I'm a new owner of hyundai elantra, and looking for a good tinting advise Currently there's 2 choices for me, but the option is still open for other brands with great value: - Agard perfect series for RM2500 for all windows - Rich cool series for RM1500 for all windows I've read through the forum and find that V-kool, 3M, and HO are the top names for tint. I'm not particular with the budget as good tinting will need extra amount of $$. So any sifus can help? Thanks If you interested with 3m, we can offer a very best price for you. Using 3m signicture crystalline series.

QUOTE(fuyong @ Sep 2 2014, 03:51 PM) Just now I went to test the huper optic film, I found that Sech 60 infrared resistance only 6x % and the seller say after tinted on the glass will become 8x%, is it real? Don't think so. Normally a solar film is already at it's stable character stage when the product out from factory. Maybe you can ask the shop for guarantee after installed if you decide to go for it.

QUOTE(KaFai @ Sep 9 2014, 09:56 AM) Hi all sifus, I hope someone can give me some comments. A tint film shop boss recommend me 3M Crystaline 70 on FWS, Crystaline 50 on RWS & 3M Prestige 40 on side windows. However, I notice most people here use 3M Nano for their side windows. So what is the difference between these 2 films? Which one is better? Hi, nano series is a solar + security film so it's good to apply on side windows. Both crystalline and nano have same spec reading and the different is only the thickness. But nano series is only available in nano 40 and nano 70, so apply nano 40 will no pass jpj and nano 70 will be too bright for side windows. The darkest allow by jpj is 50 so crystalline 50 is the best heat reject film and compliance with jpj. If you worry about safety, you can always add the 4mil 3m scotchshield security film (clear type) on top of the crystalline crystalline 50. Hope it's help.

QUOTE(dauf87 @ Sep 28 2014, 02:28 PM) Got any sample picture with VLT 50% over side windows? Planning to tint my car.. Dont want the side windows to be too dark, but want a good heat rejection tint. Thanks.. It's hard to show the different just by pic alone. The best will be visit showroom and test the tint side by side for comparison. No obligation of cause. Sometime it will even darker if some original windscreen is not 100% transparent. Update from TV news Goverment just annouce start from 1th November rear passenger side and rear windscreen can be tinted with 30% min. Which mean follow new rule Front windscreen = 70% Front side windows = 50% Rear side windows =30% Rear windscreen = 30%

QUOTE(suntzulee @ Oct 3 2014, 08:15 AM) Can some one place comment on Groupon deal 188? Reliable & can reject heat 70%? 70% heat reject with Rm188 is too good to be true which we can say. If you just want cheap security film and treat the heat reject as bonus if have and lasting then maybe you can consider it. Further more, you should look at the TSER reading instead of Infared reading to measure the real heat reject value.
