Anyone have any idea about the translator thing?? anyone encountered this kind of problems before? :'(....

Not just Chinese, I met a lot Malays too, but they are not the typical Malays, these bunch are very good, maybe thats why they are here instead of back home.

IPA is an In-principal approval letter. 3 days are actually more than enough. Go look at everywhere like advertising boards. There are many rooms for rent as well as houses. Just the matter of what do you want actually.

Can't you search for room to stay online first before going to sg? I don't know if it's feasible or not as I never tried it yet but planning to do so. I don't want to end up stranded there for weeks not being able to find a suitable/decent room and at the same time, I have to fork out SGD to support myself while being jobless and roomless.

There are many reasons why people chose to work in Singapore but that doesn't mean everything back home is shite.

Just bursting some bubbles. Haha. No worries, over here no vroom vroom as we are all quite mature and smart enough not to be that barbaric right. icon_rolleyes.gif

IMHO (I might be wrong), low-mid level job in SG are likely to be more shitty then similar jobs back in Malaysia. My current boss complains and say won't bother reading most of our mail cuz he receive 200++ emails per day, he dare to say if he read every single email he no need go lunch, everyday just read only. doh.gif I wanted to tell him my previous job in Msia, my boss receives 500++ emails on normal days, and 800 emails on peak season. Me myself can receive 50-100 emails normally and 200 emails on peak season whistling.gif . I late 30 minute reply email, you shoot me slow, inefficient, I direct send to client email within 5 minutes, you shoot me say no let you see draft, I send you draft, you say no time read, I walk in your room and seek your advice, you say no one does that here, just email wll do. vmad.gif

To his (current boss) defence, he said he has emails from Finance, Admin, Marketing, Sales, 3 Taiwan, 1 China, 1 Philippine partners, and clients. I wanted to say I last time usually liaise with Hotels all over Malaysia, 6 Event Organisers, numerous vendors, Technology team, customer service team, regional management team, marketing, product team, 160 business partners, logistic (GDex).

Ok, back to main topic, job can be much tougher (culture of kiasu etc), but pay is usually higher. The time I spent liaising with one person, back in my old job I could have liaise with 3 person already. Boss say must be polite and be long-wind, must be humble and every 2-3 sentence got some wind blow people, every paragraph must got strong wind blow, blow until angkat tinggi tinggi. sweat.gif
If no wind = rude, if rude = complain, if complain = Msia worker stupid dumb and barbaric (well, they didn't say it in that way, but they painted this picture quite clear to me, I wonder am I just unlucky to get THIS job, maybe other job not that bad)

So from a 'please refer attached confirmed visual for processing, job should be done by tomorrow 3pm, if any troubles, kindly give us a call',
we need to have 1 paragraph saying please please please look at the attach file, one paragraph to say please process for us, one paragraph begging the job to be done by 3pm tomorrow, and last paragraph to inform us if the lead time is too short. vmad.gif vmad.gif

Ok i rant enough already, terima kasih for listening, I feel much better now. cool2.gif

3 days is definitely not enuf unless u hv someone u can fall back on if u fail to find any place..

finding a place u can call home for the next 2 years is not easy and sometimes it can be stressful.. do giv urself ample time n do ur homework before the running around visiting rooms

Back in 90's SPM is minimum criteria for MOM to charge levy to employer. You may have degree or straight A's in STPM but if you do not have minimum 6 credits, your employer has to pay monthly levy. Perhaps there's new ruling now.

The most effective but expensive method is to do it the old fashion way. Come over to Singapore, flip through the recruitment newspaper and apply for your job through the company itself.

Let say I want to do the expensive method and put 14 days (2 weeks) in white card, do the immigration ask me why I'm stay so long?

what is the best answer? finding job?

If you really want to do it, dismantle each items and pack them into their own box and hand carry, dumping the casing into luggage with a lot of wraps.

Dont mind I ask a silly question, why SPM is needed in some employer?
I use to think that a degree is good enough to prove that you have the minimum education needed for a white collar job. Unless it is blue collar then SPM for used at qualification assessment.

hehe .It is a room for 1.6k. Sorry boss. I wasnt sure about it due to lack of interest.
